It has started to rain heavily in Birmingham as the umpires decided to stop play. Australia have made a good start with the ball, claiming two early wickets and New Zealand will need a good partnership from Taylor and Williamson to put the innings back on track.

Australia 243-8 (50 overs) vs New Zealand

Can Australia defend 244 on a pitch not very easy to get going? New Zealand's batsmen will need to work very hard to get the runs and they will hope their openers can put on a good stand and lay a good foundation for their middle order.

Australia have two frontline spinners in Xavier Doherty and Glenn Maxwell, while Adam Voges is a handy part-time left-arm spinner.

The pitch is a bit slow in nature and runs will be difficult to come as the ball gets older.
