England collapsed dramatically in the final few overs, losing their last six wickets for 26 runs in the space of 25 deliveries.

McClenaghan gets his man off the very next delivery as Bopara top edges the pull and is caught on the leg side for nine.

Bresnan then smashes it through the covers for a couple before pulling it to fine leg. He goes for a risky second run as Franklin fumbled at fine leg but he got Bresnan's wicket with a direct him.

Just five runs from that over as McClenaghan finishes with three for 36 in five overs.

Buttler (14) is foxed by a slower ball as he holes out to Nathan McCullum at long-off who completes a well judged catch, his third of the innings while also dropping three along the way.

McCullum finally dismisses Cook on the third attempt as he holds on to a tough return catch. Cook walks back after a quickfire knock of 64 from 47 balls, laced with four boundaries and two sixes.

McClenaghan bowls a beauty to Ian Bell first up who plays inside the line as it slants across him.

The next ball is short and wide but Bell mistimes the cut shot to get only a single.

The last ball is down the leg side as Cook flicks it fine for the first boundary of the match.

So finally some good news from Cardiff with the umpires deciding that the match will starts at 1545 local time (2015 IST).

Both teams are already out in the middle warming up which means the ground is absolutely ready to play.

It will be 24 overs per side, with two Powerplays reduced to five and two overs respectively.

It has stopped raining in Cardiff as the umpires walk out to check the ground condition. We could be in for a shortened game of around 20 to 25 overs per side if it doesn't rain any further!

The umpires have decided they will make another inspection in 20 minutes from now at 1510 local time (1940 IST).

As the wait for the start of England vs New Zealand match continues, lets checkout some latest updates on Twittr.

Ace statistician Mohandas Menon points out that in the history of the ICC Champions Trophy we have never had a washout without a ball being bowled.

"Never in the history of Champions Trophy a match has been abandoned without a ball bowled. Lets hope it doesn't happen today!" he writes.

BBC Sport's latest update on Twitter says there is no chance of play starting atleast before 1400 local time which is 1830 IST.

"Still raining in Cardiff, we suspect no play before 14:00 BST at the earliest," BBC Sport wrote on Twitter.

We have had three matches washed out because of rain in the past in Cardiff.

"Three of the previous 13 ODIs at Cardiff have ended with no result. Apprehensive": OptaJim write on Twitter.

"The latest info is that play needs to start by 4:17pm today. It is still raining at present, so things do not look great," says ECB.

If the match is washed out because of rain both teams will get a point each which means New Zealand will go through to the semi-finals. In that scenario, England can only make it to the last four if Australia beats Sri Lanka.

Things not looking good in Cardiff as far as the England vs New Zealand is concerned with more rain set to hit the venue.

Here is what Derek Pringle is tweeting from the ground: "The groundstaff putting out acres of covers in Cardiff, must be something nasty on the radar."

And the ECB team's official Twitter account has this to say. "Afraid it is still raining, albeit not heavily, at Cardiff Wales Stadium. All very frustrating!"
