Hashim Amla gets off the mark with a single to the thirdman region and Robin Peterson, who is sent in at No. 3, takes one on the leg side.

Steven Finn then claims the key wicket of Amla, who withdraws from the shot at the last moment but it kisses the bottom of the bat and is caught by wicketkeeper Jos Buttler.

The ball is moving around and Amla made a late decision to pull out of the shot but the indecision proved fatal.

Hashim Amla and Colin Ingram walk out to open the batting for South Africa, while James Anderson will bowl the first over.

It is an overcast day in London and England will be looking to take advantage of the conditions with the two new balls.

The first ball is slanted across left-hander Ingram which he lets go before Anderson bowls a wide down the leg side. A few outswingers before Anderson gets one to jag back hitting Ingram on the pads and right in front of the stumps and umpire Kumara Dharmasena has no choice but to give him out LBW.

England captain Alastair Cook has won the toss and elected to bowl against South Africa in the first semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy at the Oval in London, on Wednesday.

South Africa suffer a big blow as Dale Steyn misses out with captain AB de Villiers saying "Steyn is unfortunately not ready yet." Rory Kleinveldt will replace the pacer.

For England, Graeme Swann has failed to recover from injury which means off-spinner James Tredwell will keep his place in the team. Tim Bresnan also misses out and he is replaced by Steve Finn.
