India will have to face three overs. Virender Sehwag and Murali Vijay come out to bat.

James Pattinson starts off with a wide. There are no further runs from the over.

Peter Siddle bowls with the second new ball. Sehwag smashes the fifth ball past backward point for the first boundary of the innings.

India five without loss at stumps.

Scorecard:

Glenn Maxwell (13) and Peter Siddle (0) haven't bothered the scorers much, Jadeja and Harbhajan adding to their tally of wickets in the process.

And then Clarke loses his patience, playing across the line to a Jadeja delivery and seeing his stumps shattered. It was a frustrated shot no doubt. But it came in at the worst possible time.

Australia 237 for nine after 85 overs and they have surprisingly declared.

Scorecard:

Henriques (on five) survives a loud bat appeal off Harbhajan, the third umpire (S Ravi) coming into the picture.

Jadeja replaces Kumar (3-1-7-0) in the attack in the 74th over. And the change works for India, the bowler cleaning up Henriques with his fourth ball.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar replaces Ishant (3-2-1-0) in the attack in the 68th over. He will bowl for the first time from the Shivlal Yadav end.

However, it is Harbhajan Singh who provides India a much needed breakthrough, having Wade (62) caught by Kumar. Tthe batsman had survived a stumping attempt a ball earlier.

The Australian stumper faced 144 balls in an innings that included eight boundaries, and he helped his captain add 145 runs in a stand that has laid the foundation of their innings.

Australia 214 for five after 71 overs.

Scorecard:

So India failed to take a wicket in the second session, the visitors ending on 187 for four.

Harbhajan starts the bowling in the final session, conceding two runs in his first over. A boundary off him by Wade helps Australia reach the 200-run mark.

Australia 202 for four after 65 overs.

Scorecard:

A single by Clarke, off Ashwin, helps the visitors reach the 150-run mark, in the 49th over.

A big howler this. Pujara has put down Clarke (52) at short leg, Ashwin being the unlucky bowler.

A single off Jadeja by Clarke in the next over helps raise the 100-run partnership for the fifth wicket, one that has happened against the tide.

A single off Ashwin helps Wade complete a third Test fifty, a well deserved innings this.

Australia 178 for four after 57 overs.

Scorecard:

Jadeja replaces an uninspiring Harbhajan (9-1-21-0) in the attack in the 44th over. Wade hits his fifth ball to the fence. The Australian wicketkeeper, playing despite of an injury, has settled down pretty well now.

It's a twin bowling change for India with Ashwin coming in place of Ishant in the next over. He concedes only a single to Wade.

A single off Jadeja helps Clarke complete his 26th Test fifty, his sixth against India. Here's one batsman who is in great form.

Australia 149 for four after 48 overs.

Scorecard:

Kumar and Harbhajan to start the proceedings in the second session.

There are more people who have come in to watch. Considering it's a Saturday the turnout is sizeable, 22,325 to be precise.

Australian reach the 100-run mark in the 33rd over. Clarke and Wade are doing a decent job of rebuilding the innings.

A boundary by Wade off Harbhajan helps raise the 50-run stand for the fifth wicket.

Australia 113 for four after 38 overs.

Harbhajan Singh is introduced into the attack in the 26th over, replacing Ashwin (7-5-10-1). He concedes a single.

It's a twin bowling change as Ravindra Jadeja replaces Ishant (4-2-6-0) in the next over. It's a maiden from him first up.

Australia 83 for four after at lunch (28 overs).

Michael Clarke batting on 20 and giving him company is Wade 2.

Michael Clarke has come out to join Hughes at the crease. He begins with a boundary through square leg off Kumar.

Kumar, having bowled nine overs at a stretch (9-1-36-3) is replaced by Ishant in the 19th over. Hughes survives a huge leg before shout off the second ball.

A brilliant catch by Dhoni ends Hughes (19) stay at the crease, giving Ashwin his first wicket. Matthew Wade comes out to join his captain.

In Ashwin's seventh over, Clarke hits him for a straight six.

Australia 82 for four after 25 overs.

Scorecard:

Phillip Hughes eases the pressure with a couple of sweetly-timed boundaries of Ishant and one off Kumar.

Spin is introduced in the 12th over, R Ashwin replacing an expensive Ishant (5-1-21-0). It's a maiden first up for the offie.

The visitors reach the 50-run mark in the 15th over, courtesy a boundary from Watson off Kumar. The bowler though has Watson (23) out leg before five balls later.

Australia 57 for three after 16 overs.

Scorecard:

Phillip Hughes has come out to join Ed Cowan at the crease, the latter getting off the mark with a sweetly-timed boundary off Ishant.

However, Kumar struck again in his third over, having Cowan (4) out leg before.

Shane Watson comes out to bat and begins with a boundary straight past Kumar. A beautiful shot this.

Australia 19 for two after five overs.

Scorecard:

David Warner and Ed Cowan open the batting for Australia and it will be Bhuvneshwar Kumar first up for India.

Warner guides the third ball to the third man boundary for the first runs of the day. Another couple comes off the sixth ball.

Ishant Sharma to share the new ball. It's a maiden.

Kumar provided India with its maiden breakthrough, crashing into the defence of Warner (6).

Australia 10 for one after three overs.

Apologies, Australia has made two changes to the squad that lost in Chennai, Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc making way for Glenn Maxwell and Xavier Doherty.

Matthew Wade, though injured, will play. Australia doesn't have a back-up keeper anyways.

Michael Clarke gets it right with the coin yet again and Australia will bat first in Uppal.

"It feels harder than Chennai and will deteriorate as the game goes on," reasoned the Australian captain. The visitors hand a debut to Glenn Maxwell, who replaces an injured Matthew Wade. Phillip Hughes will keep wickets.

India feels an unchanged team.
