Hogg to bowl the 18th over. He is beaten off the first ball by the wrong one from Hogg but he lofts the next ball back over the bowler's head for a victory to take his team to victory in grand style.

Kolkata register a convincing eight-wicket victory with 16 balls to spare to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.

Kallis hit 33 from 30 balls while Pathan finished not out on 49 from 35 balls as the two put on an unbroken stand of 78 from 10.1 overs.

Pathan pulls the first ball from Trivedi through the leg side for a four and takes a single two balls later to take his score to 48.

Kallis takes one to bring Pathan on strike who calmly collects a single to move to 49 before Kallis retains strike with one.

Siddharth Trivedi is introduced now as Rajasthan are desperate for a wicket at this stage. He makes a tidy start giving two singles from the first four balls. Pathan then steers it fine for a boundary through the thirdman region for a four before taking a single on the leg side to retain strike.

At the halfway stage, Kolkata are 82 for two, needing 51 from 10 overs for victory.

The next ball is a full toss which Kallis hits for a single to long-off and Pathan sweeps the next ball for another one.

Hogg beats Kallis all ends up with the wrong one that goes past the edge of the bat.

Chavan comes back for his second spell and immediately gets the key wicket of Bisla, who is caught off a leading edge in the covers for 29 from 25 balls.

Yusuf Pathan mistimes the first ball as he tries to hit a big shot down the leg side for a single. However, two balls later he gets it off the middle for a big six over long-on to signal his intent. He cuts the next ball as Dravid misfields at short thirdman to give away two runs.

42-year-old spinner Brad Hogg comes into the attack now. Kallis drives the second ball to long-off for one before Bisla paddles it fine for a couple.

Watson makes the first breakthrough for Rajasthan with the wicket of Gambhir, who is stumped for 12 courtesy of some quick glove work from Dishant Yagnik standing up the stumps to a medium pacer.

Jacques Kallis flicks the first ball through midwicket where the fielder makes a good stop just inside the ropes to give away three runs.

The next ball is sliding down the leg side as Bisla tries to flick it fine but it hits his pads and goes for four leg byes.

Shane Watson replaces Faulkner, who bowled just one over in his first spell.

Bisla flicks the second ball to deep midwicket for two runs before he gets a thick outside edge trying to play on the leg side for a boundary as Faulkner messes up on the cover boundary.

Rajasthan are struggling on the field as the fielder at extra cover jumps over the ball and lets another boundary through.

Kolkata are looking comfortable on 35 for no loss after four overs.

Kallis to bowl the final over. The first ball is full and wide and Kallis is not happy and rightly so. The next ball is a full toss which Shah hits back to the bowler and fails to get a run.

Owais then drives a full delivery to sweeper cover for two runs before he is bowled attempting to play the paddle sweep.

He walks back after a steady innings of 24 from 22 balls.

Rahul Dravid finally walks out to bat, at No. 8. The first ball is a full toss and Dravid smashes it through the covers for a boundary.

The next ball is a slower one as Dravid has a huge swing but misses it.  The Rajasthan captain drives the last ball past the bowler to long-off and tries to take two runs.

Rajasthan finish on 132 for six in their 20 overs.

Rajasthan have scored just 29 runs from the last five overs and require some big hits to take the total to somewhere close to the 140-run mark.

Narine finishes his spell with a tidy over conceding just four for figures of one for 20 in four overs.

Two singles from the first three balls of Bhatia's final over before Samson tries to loft it on the leg side and ends up being caught at long-on after scoring 40 from 36 balls.

Samson tries to loft it on the leg side but gets a top edge which goes high on the off-side as keeper Bisla drops a simple catch despite having ample time to get under it.

KKR have held back Narine, who has bowled just one over so far as Rajasthan have reached 97 for four in 14 overs. You would want your top spinner to get into the act early on a spinning wicket not wait till the final overs when the opposition has already posted a good score.

Rajasthan are showing good maturity as they carefully play out Narine for five singles in his second over.

RR are 102 for four after 15 overs with Samson on 34 from 28 balls and Shah on 10 from eight balls.

Bhatia to continue. Just two singles from the first four balls as Bhatia mixes his pace well. Shah then gets the boundary as he crashes an over-pitched delivery through the covers for a four before taking one to retain strike.

Narine is taken off after just one over as Senanayake comes back, to bowl his fourth and final over.

Yagnik late cuts the first ball for a boundary past the wicketkeeper but falls off the next. He tries to play the cut shot again but ends up inside edging it back on to his stumps to be bowled for 10.

Still no signs of Dravid as Owais Shah walks out to bat at No. 6. The England right-hander gets off the mark with a single before Samson heaves the last ball over midwicket for a six to take his score to 31 from 23 balls.

Senanayake finishes with two for 26 in four overs.

Wonder why Dravid has decided to hold himself back? Even the experienced Owais Shah is yet to bat.

Samson hits the second ball to long-on for one and Yagnik gets one on the leg side two balls later. Two more singles as RR reach 79 for three after 12 overs.

Narine finally comes into the attack. The first ball turns as Watson tries to play it on the leg side but gets a leading edge and it falls on the off-side. Watson tries to sweep the next ball but misses the carrom ball but the LBW appeal is turned down. Replays show that the ball would have hit the leg stump but the umpire was not interested.

However, Narine gets his man three balls later as Watson again tries to sweep but misses the carrom ball again. He is dismissed leg before wicket after scoring 35 from as many balls.

Dishant Yagnik steers the last ball of that over past point for a four.

Kallis to bowl his second over. Watson and Samson looking to milk the bowling in the middle overs and save their wickets for the onslaught at the end.

Five singles from the first five balls before Kallis bowls a high full toss to be called a no-ball. Samson slams the last ball straight for another couple as nine runs come from that over.

Rajasthan are looking good on 71 for two after 10 overs.

Abdulla starts with a short delivery which Samson pulls over midwicket for the first six of the match and then takes one.

Watson flicks the third ball to deep midwicket for a couple before sweeping the next ball fine on the leg side for a boundary.

Rajasthan get 15 runs from that over to take their score to 62 for two after nine overs. Samson has raced to 18 from 13 balls, while Watson is on 33 from 27 balls.

Faulkner's promotion fails as he chips one straight to Gambhir at point for one.

Sanju Samson comes ahead of Rahul Dravid as he flicks the last ball for a single with just two runs coming from that over.

Rahane trying to break the shackles as he chips down the track to Senanayake but is beaten in the flight as wicketkeeper Bisla completes an easy stumping.

Rahane is dismissed for six as Rajasthan are reduced to 20 for one in the fourth over.

James Faulkner gets a promotion as Rajasthan try to make use of the fielding restrictions in the first six overs.

Faulkner plays two dot balls before he gets off the mark with a single.

Senanayake drops one short and Watson is quick to rock back and pull it through midwicket for a four and then retains strike with a single from the last ball.

Shane Watson and Ajinkya Rahane open the batting for Rajasthan, while medium pacer Sumit Narwal will bowl the first over for Kolkata.

Watson guides the first ball to thirdman for a single to get RR off the mark. The second ball is full and on the stumps which Rahane defends and taps the next to the fielder at covers.

Rahane then get off the mark in some style as he flicks it over midwicket for a four. The right-hander defends the next ball and does the same from the last ball.

So we expect to see a lot of spin today with as many as five specialist spinners playing in the two teams. Rajasthan have the left-arm spin duo of Hogg and Chavan, while Kolkata have a trio of spinners in Narine, Senanayake and Abdulla.

Rajasthan Royals captain Rahul Dravid has won the toss and elected to bat against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

"It looks like being low and slow," says Dravid when asked about the pitch.

The visitors have brought in a couple of left-arm spinners in Ankeet Chavan and Brad Hogg.

Kolkata have three spinners in their team as they bring in Sachithra Senanayake to partner Sunil Narine. Gambhir mentioned at the toss that they have also picked up another left-arm spinner but hasn't named him, so we will wait for the team sheets to arrive.

Kolkata Knight Riders face a must-win situation when they take on Rajasthan Royals, in the 47th match of the Indian Premier League, in Kolkata, on Friday.

Defending champions Kolkata have won just three out of 10 games and need to win their remaining six matches to make it to the play-offs.

On the other hand, Rajasthan are sitting pretty on the third position in the standings with six victories from nine games.
