He throws his bat at the next delivery but is caught at deep point for a quick 26 from 12 balls.

Rajasthan finish on 113 for nine in their 20 overs to lose by 23 runs.

Hyderabad's victory means they jump to fourth place in the table with 18 points from 15 games. Bangalore will need to beat Chennai on Saturday to keep their hopes alive of making it to the play-off, but Kings XI Punjab have been knocked out.

Faulkner slog sweeps Karan over midwicket for a six but the bowler extracts revenge from the next delivery. He tries to repeat the shot but gets a leading edge and is caught at long-off for six.

10 runs from that over as Rajasthan now need 52 runs from three overs for victory.

Mishra comes on to bowl his fourth and final over. Sachin Baby struggles to get the first three balls away before he takes two runs on the leg side. Baby then tries to reverse sweep but misses and is trapped leg before wicket for three.

Just two runs given in that over as Mishra finishes with wonderful figures of two for eight.

Perera makes it worse for Rajasthan with the key wicket of Watson, who is caught at long-on by Sammy.

Watson struggled to get going and was dismissed for 11 from 20 balls.

Three balls later he gets the wicket of Binny, who misses a straight delivery and is bowled for eight.

Watson lofts the fourth delivery but it goes on the bounce to deep midwicket for one. He is struggling to get the boundaries as his score reaches nine from 17 balls.

Eight runs from the over as Rajasthan reach 59 for three in 13 overs. They need 78 runs from seven overs for victory.

The last boundary was hit eight overs ago and since then Hyderabad have set about building the pressure with some disciplined bowling.

The runs have dried up as the pressure continue to soar. This time youngster Samson falls prey to the pressure as he holes out to Steyn at long-off to give Mishra his first wicket of the innings.

Hyderabad have dried up the runs courtesy of some tight bowling with just nine coming from the last three overs.

The pressure has paid off Rahane holes out to Dhawan at sweeper cover off Karan Sharma to be dismissed for a struggling innings of 12 from 25 balls.

Another good over from Karan, as he concedes three runs in that over.

Faulkner bowls Dale Steyn with the last ball of the over to finish with a five-wicket haul.

Faulkner ends the over with another wicket as Dhawan is caught at point by Ajinkya Rahane to be dismissed for one.

Rahul Dravid has made a surprise choice at the start by getting veteran part-time spinner Brad Hodge to bowl the first over.

Hodge starts with three dot balls to Parthiv Patel, who then takes a single on the leg side. Shikhar Dhawan is off the mark from the first ball to the leg side before Parthiv retains strike with another single.

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Cameron White won the toss and elected to bat against Rajasthan Royals in the 68th match of the Indian Premier League in Hyderabad, on Friday.

"It's been a couple of days for our team but we will try to put in a good performance," said Rajasthan captain Rahul Dravid.
