What an amazing comeback by Yuvraj! He smashed his way to 77 not out from 35 balls, hitting eight fours and five sixes, at an astonishing strike rate of 220.

Dhoni played a subdued knock, hitting 24 from 21 balls, as the duo were involved in an unbroken stand of 102 runs from 51 balls that helped India turnaround things in the final few overs.

In the end, Australia's slow batting in the final few overs proved costly. India timed their chase to perfection and one felt they always had things under control despite chasing a huge 202 for victory.

India will go into the seven-match ODI series in a confident frame of mind and will look to continue their winning run against Australia. The first ODI will be played in Pune, on Sunday, October 13, with the match start timing revised to 1330 hours IST.

That boundary also brings up the 100-run partnership from just 50 balls between the two batsmen, with Dhoni contributing just 24 and Yuvraj hitting 69 of them.

Dhoni drives a full toss through the covers for a couple to take India to victory.

Australia take a risk by bring back left-arm spinner Doherty against Dhoni and Yuvraj.

He is bowling it quick and full as Dhoni defends the first ball before taking one on the leg side.

Yuvraj tries to heave it on the leg side but can't make proper connection for just one and Dhoni takes a single too.

Yuvraj gets the much-needed boundary as he smashes it through midwicket but can only defend the last ball.

A good over from Doherty, giving away just seven runs to leave India to get 49 from four overs for victory.

Coulter-Nile is lucky as Yuvraj misses a full toss but he lofts the next ball over mid-off for a four to race to 35 from 17 balls at a strike rate of more than 200.

The pacer then bowls a wide down the leg side before Yuvraj thumps the next ball over mid-off for another boundary.

He finds the gap through the covers but the fielder at long-off cleans up for two runs before taking one.

The last ball is a yorker which Dhoni somehow keeps out for a single as 13 runs come from the over.

Yuvraj is getting into the act as he pulls a short ball from McKay over midwicket for a six. The next ball is again a six as Yuvraj flicked it behind square on the leg side but was lucky as Watson touched the ropes despite completing a good sharp catch. Watson threw the ball in as the momentum carried him over the ropes but he came back to take the catch only to realise his foot had touched the boundary.

Yuvraj cutting loose as he flicks the next ball fine on the leg side for a four followed by two singles from the last two balls to make it 18 runs from the over.

India still in the hunt with 69 needed from six overs and two big hitters out in the middle.

Dhoni warms up with a cracking boundary as he clubs Watson over the cover region. The fireworks will begin with India needing to score at around 12 runs per over for victory.

Despite a boundary every over India unable to break free with that big over which will also bring the run rate under control.

Watson concedes nine runs in his third over with India needing 87 from seven overs for victory at an asking rate of 12.42.

India's batsmen guilty of throwing away their wicket after getting off to starts. And this time the ever-reliable Kohli throws his wicket away as holes out to Faulkner at deep midwicket to give McKay his second wicket.

Kohli walks back for 29 from 22 balls to leave India reeling at 100 for four in the 12th over.

McKay tries the slower ball but Yuvraj waits for it and at the last minute sticks his bat out to late cut it past a diving Haddin for a boundary.

Raina top edges the next ball too but this time it goes to midwicket where Watson completes an easy catch to send back the left-hander for 19 from 13 balls.

India managed to pull back things in the last four overs, taking two wickets for 29 runs to check Australia's progress.

Vinay and Bhuvneshwar registered combined figures of six for 60 in eight overs while the other frontline bowlers were taken to the cleaners.

Ashwin had a forgettable game, as he was smashed for 41 runs in two overs, while Ishant conceded 52 in his four overs. Jadeja also did a good job in the middle overs, taking one for 23 in four overs.

But he gets revenge two balls later as he tried to pull the short ball but got a leading edge and was caught at point by Yuvraj for 12.

Finally, it takes a piece of magic on the field to get rid of Finch. The right-hander, who smashed 89 from 52 balls with the help of 14 fours and a six, hit a low full toss back the bowler, who managed to hold on to a sharp chance.

But Vinay has injured his finger in the proces as he hardly got any time to react but still took the catch.

Just four runs from the over but Vinay managed to take the vital wicket of Finch. Vinay's figures have been superb, claiming three for 18 in three overs.

Brad Haddin gets off the mark with a four as he steers the quicker delivery past the first slip fielder through the vacant thirdman region.

Australia are scoring at more than 11 runs per over for 124 runs in 11 overs and will be looking for a total well in excess of 200.

Maxwell then heaves Ashwin over deep midwicket for a big six. He slog sweeps the next ball and it goes high over the fence for another six.

The struggling Ashwin then gifts Maxwell a full toss which he carts over midwicket for the third six of the over. Maxwell then tries the reverse sweep but is beaten as 24 come from that over.

Ashwin is having a nightmare with the ball, being hit for 41 runs in two overs.

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has won the toss and elected to bowl against Australia, in the one-off T20.

Dhoni believes that there could be some help for the bowlers early on with the pitch being covered due to some rain earlier in the day.

The India captain confirmed at the toss that they have left out Mohammad Shami, Ambati Rayudu, Amit Mishra and Jaydev Unadkat.

Earlier in the day, Sachin Tendulkar announced his decision to retire from Test cricket after playing his landmark 200th match against the West Indies next month.

The 40-year-old Tendulkar, who has not been in the best of form in recent times, informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India about his decision to quit Test cricket after a glorious career, spanning 24 years.

Though the BCCI is yet announce the venues for the two Tests against the West Indies, his 200th Test is most likely to be played at his home ground in Mumbai from November 14.

The T20 match will be followed by a seven-match One-Day International series, which begins in Pune on Sunday.
