Welcome to the coverage of the seventh edition of the Pepsi Indian Premier League.

The tournament will kick-off with a high voltage clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians and 2012 winners Kolkata Knight Riders.

The first leg of the Twenty20 league will be played in UAE after the tournament was shifted outside the country because of general elections. The second leg will be played in India and the tournament will return to the country on May 2.

Mumbai will led by the young Rohit Sharma, who led them to the grand double last year as they also won the Champions League T20. On the other hand, India discard Gautam Gambhir would be looking to make a statement in the IPL both for himself and also for the team, which fared poorly last year.
