Riding high on a half-century from Yuvraj Singh and an attacking unbeaten 48 from Virat Kohli Royal Challengers Bangalore cruised to a convincing eight wickets win over Delhi Daredevils in the second match of the IPL.

After restricting Delhi to mere 145, RCB got off to a decent start, courtesy of Partiv Patel, who made 37.

Yuvraj then joined hands with Kohli and put on an unbeaten 84 runs for fourth wicket to guide RCB home with 20 balls to spare.

For Delhi, Mohammad Shami and Rahul Sharma picked up the only two wickets that fell in the innings.

Rahul Sharma came in for some rough treatment, as Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh moked the leg-spinner for three massive sixes to bring the required run-rate down considerably.

Kohli, who was dropped by Neesham, hit the leg-spinner for consecutive sixes, while Yuvraj, latched onto a short delivery from Rahul  to dispatch it into the crowd.

At the end of 15 overs, RCB were 124-2, requiring 22 runs off 30 balls.

Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh are looking comfortable in the middle as Delhi bring back Wayne Parnell into the attack.

As we speak, Jimmy Neesham spills an easy catch of Virat Kohli.

Kohli looking to clip one off his pads, hit it straight to Neesham, who let go off simplest of chances.

Kohli is dropped again in the over as Mayank Agarwal let go off a relatively difficult chance.

RCB at the end of 13 overs were 89-2. Kohli is on 25, while Yuvraj is on 20.

Rahul Sharma now introduced into the attack. RCB have been pretty clinical in the chase.

First up is a loud appeal from Rahul, but umpire turns it down.

Parthiv takes a single to keep the strike rotating. Kohli too keeps the singles going.

Rahul Sharma finally gets the breakthrough for Delhi as he castles Parthiv for 37.

Parthiv chipped down the track, looking to hit Rahul, only to have his off-stump knocked out by the leg-spinner.

Yuvraj Singh gets off the mark straight away as  RCB were 63-2 after 9 overs.

Shahbaz Nadeem now into the attack as Kohli helps himself with a single.

Nadeem drops one short, as Parthiv rocks back and smokes it for a maximum.

Parthiv then slog sweeps Nadeem for boundary. Single to round up the over as 13 runs came from that.

RCB were 50-1 after 6 overs, still needing 96 runs from 84 balls.

A crucial unbeaten 110-runs stand for fifth wicket between JP Duminy and Ross Taylor resurrected Delhi Daredevils' innings to help them post 145-4.

Delhi were reeling at 35-4 at one stage, before the duo combined well for Delhi.

Taylor looked rusty but didn't give up and rotated the strike well to leave Duminy with the big hitting.

Duminy and Taylor ensured that they up the ante in the final overs as Delhi plundered 63 runs off final five overs.

Duminy hit six and boundary off the final over as Dinda leaked 13 runs off the final over.

Yuvraj continues as Duminy welcomes him with a maximum. Duminy chips down the track and and smokes him over the bowlers head.

Ross Taylor and JP Duminy are looking to steady Delhi innings after early jolts. Delhi were reeling at 35-4.

Yuzvendra Chahal strikes a crucial blow after the strategic time out as he castles well-set Murali Vijay for 18.

Chahal was on the mark, as the ball crashed onto the offstump -- Vijay can't believe that he missed a straight ball.

Ross Taylor is welcomed with a googly. A single to end the over as Delhi were 36-4 after 8 overs.

Varun Aaron continues after a wicket-maiden. First up is right on the money as Vijay plays with a straight bat.

He is bowling with some speed here Aaron. The pacer follows it with a good bouncer.

Aaron goes down the leg side -- Vijay is unable to take advantage of it.

Duminy cuts only -- only a single. Boundaries seems to have dried up -- infact only one boundary hit by Duminy.

A single to end the over as Delhi were 35-3 after 7 overs.

After Starc, it was Albie Morkel's turn to strike as he had Delhi skipper Dinesh Karthik walking back after he edged one to Parthiv Patel off the first ball he faced.

Mitchell Starc continues his second over as Mayank Agarwal drops one and runs for a single.

Murali Vijay then flicks one off his pads for a maximum. Starc follows it with a swinging delivery, but Vijay is equal to the task to help himself with a single.

Starc had Agarwal walking back to the pavillion after he outsmarted the batsman with a short delivery.

Agarwal mis-timed a short delivery and hit it straight down Virat Kohli's throat at midwicket.

Delhi 15-1 after 3 overs.

Delhi's Murali Vijay and Mayank Aggarwal walk out to the middle and looks like Mitchell Starc will open the proceedings for RCB.

First up, Mayank Aggarwal times one through off-side, but straight to fielder.

Mayank then hits one over in-field, but Sachin Rana keeps it to a brace at thrid man.

Starc gets a bit of swing, but Mayank walks across the stumps to help himself with a single.

At the end of first overs, Delhi were 4-0.

The news from the middle is that Delhi will miss Kevin Pietersen, who has an injured finger. Dinesh Karthik will lead the side in KP's absence.

RCB has won the toss and has elected to bowl first. Skipper Virat Kohli reckons it's a good pitch and they want to try few things up front.

RCB are going in  with Nic Maddinson, Mitchell Starc, AB de Villiers and Albie Morkel as their foreign players. So no Chris Gayle in their team.
