STUMPS - DAY 1

Eng 62-0 (19 ovs) vs India 148 | Scorecard

England dominated the opening day of the Oval Test, both with the bat and ball.

Electing to bowl, England bowled India out for a paltry 148 before they cruised to 62 for no loss in 19 overs at stumps on Day 1 with Cook on 24 and Robson on 33. They need just 86 runs to go past India's first innings score.

Dhoni saved India the blushes with a sparkling innings of 82, with the help of 15 fours and a six, as wickets fell around him.

The Indian top order failed to rise to the occasion with Kohli (6) and Pujara (4) departing cheaply to continue their poor run in the series.

India's only hopes of saving this match now rests on the weather, while England look set for another crushing win.
