Mitchell Marsh ends it in some style as he smashes Aaron through the covers for a four and lift Australia to a four-wicket victory inside four days.

Australia reach 130 for six in 23.1 overs to win by four wickets and take a 2-0 lead in the four-match series.

Johnson's magical spell in the morning session, when he took 4-61 saw India collapse for 224. Chasing 128 for victory, Australia kept losing wickets throughout but Chris Rogers hit a half-century to set them on their way.

India have a lot of soul searching to do before the third Test starts in Melbourne, from December 26. The primary concern would be the fast bowling, who have conceded a lot of runs, while the form of Rohit Sharma would also come under the scanner.

Aus 126-6 (23 ovs); Target: 128 | Scorecard

The wickets keep tumbling for Australia. Haddin's poor run with the bat continues as he walks back for one to give Yadav his second wicket of the innings.

Haddin went for the pull shot but miscued it to fine leg where Kohli held on.

Indians would be wondering if only they had scored 50 more runs!

Australia's hero of the match Mitchell Johnson comes out to the middle and he gets off the mark with a single. Three more singles leave Australia with two more runs to win the second Test.

The left-hander is getting some batting time out in the middle and he looks keen to score some runs.

A huge appeal for LBW is turned down against Marsh and again height seems to be an issue.

Marsh fails to survive till the end. He is caught down the leg side off Yadav as he tries to tickle it fine to be dismissed for 17.

Australia, despite scoring at a good rate, are losing wickets at regular intervals. But there is no cause for worry yet as they reach 114 for four with another 14 runs needed for victory.

Brad Haddin comes in to bat at No. 6 ahead of Mitchell Marsh, who suffered a hamstring injury in the first innings.

Meanwhile, Rogers is leading Australia's charge towards victory. He punches a full delivery from Ishant down the ground past mid-off for a boundary as the hosts reach 76 for two in 15 overs.

In the next over, Rogers pulls a short ball from Aaron over midwicket for a four to bring up his half-century, from 50 balls and drives the next ball square past point for another boundary.

Varun Aaron comes in to replace Yadav and he starts with a poor delivery. He starts with one on the pads which Smith flicks fine on the leg side for a four. Smith gets an edge three balls later but Virat Kohli is unable to hold on at third slip. That could have proved to be so vital for India!

Australia captain Steve Smith hits the last ball of the session through point for two runs.

At tea on Day 4, Australia are 25 for two in seven overs, needing another 103 runs for victory with eight wickets in hand.

Warner is clearly in a lot of discomfort. He drives Yadav square on the off-side but takes his bottom hand off at the last minute and is grimacing in pain after the shot.

India are bowled out for 224 in their second innings to set Australia 128 to win the second Test and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match series.

A poor batting display by India, who resumed the day on 71 for one, before they collapsed to 87 for five. An injured Dhawan hit 81, adding 60 runs for the eighth wicket with Yadav to help India add some respectability to the total.

Kohli (1), Dhoni (0) and Rohit (0) scored just one run amongst them as India's batting came apart against Johnson's extra bounce and pace.

After his heroics with the bat, Johnson returned to haunt the Indians with the ball to claim four for 61, while Hazlewood, Starc and Lyon picked up two wickets each.

He was later forced to cancel a trip to hospital for X-Rays on the injury, however, and return to the middle to resume his innings after Australia ripped through the Indian batting early in the day.

Johnson tries a short ball to Dhawan but it bounces more than expected and flies even over keeper Haddin for five wides. Dhawan turns the next ball square on the leg side for two runs before he takes a single on the off-side. He does not look in any sort of problem at the moment, maybe he has had a few painkillers.

India are 142 for six in 44 overs, to take their lead to 45 runs.
07:04
India 125-6 (41 ovs) vs Aus | Scorecard

06:54
Statement from the Indian team on the injury to Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan, clearly blaming the local cricket administrators on the quality of pitches for the net practice sessions.

"Indian team has been asking for fresh net wickets several times for the last two days which has not been provided instead of that they have asked to practice on worn out wickets which have uneven bounce and because of that two of our batsmen (Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli) got injured today morning. Shikar Dhawan had a right wrist injury. Becos of that he was unable to bat in the morning."
06:53   Ashwin out for 19, India lose 6th wicket
India 117-6 (38 ovs) vs Aus | Scorecard

Starc continues Australia's superb showing with the ball as he dismisses Ashwin, caught behind for 19 to leave India reeling on 117 for six in the 37th over. Infact, Ashwin got the inside edge through to keeper Haddin as the Aussies barely appealed for that wicket. There is no mark in the Hotspot but the Snicko shows some contact but all the evidence is unclear. Not surprising, Ashwin was stunned when he saw the umpire raise his finger.

An injured Shikhar Dhawan walks to bat to resume his innings of 26 not out and is greeted by a quick bouncer.

Watson is bowling and full into Pujara, who is doing well to get his bat behind it and defend watchfully.

Ashwin drives Hazlewood down the ground past mid-on for a couple to draw India level. He drives the last ball through the covers for a beautiful boundary before ducking under the next ball, which is short.

Ashwin's positive approach seems to have rubbed off on Pujara. The right-hander, who has been witness to the spectacular collapse from the other end, finally decides to play some shots.

He crashes a wide half-volley behind point for a boundary and repeats the shot three balls later to take his score to 28.

06:05
India 86-4 (29 ovs) vs Aus | Scorecard

Rahane hit a delightful shot as he drove a full delivery from Johnson through the covers for a boundary.

However, disaster strikes two balls later. Rahane is caught at gully for 10 to leave the visitors reeling on 86 for three, in the 29th over. With Dhawan unable to bat because of injury they are effectively four wickets down and the top order back in the hut. They still need 11 runs to wipe off the deficit after Australia took a 97-run first innings lead.

Rohit Sharma last two just deliveries as he pokes his bat at the outswinger and is caught behind for a duck. What a disappointing collapse by India!
05:57
'Shikhar Dhawan was hit on the wrist batting in the nets. Virat Kohli was also hit in the nets, that was the reason he was looking slightly out of sorts,' says former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar on commentary.

05:51
India 82-2 (27 ovs) vs Aus | Scorecard

Shane Watson will open the bowling for Australia ahead of the specialist fast bowlers. New batsman Virat Kohli is on strike and he does well to play out the opening over of the fourth day.

Left-arm pacer Mitchell Johnson from the other end. He bowls a good short ball to Cheteshwar Pujara, who fends a short ball awkwardly on the leg side for a boundary through fine leg for the first runs of the day.

Kohli misses as he attempts to pull a short ball from Watson but gets off the mark with a single on the leg side from the next delivery.

However, India are dealt a big blow in the next over as Kohli inside edges Johnson back on to his stumps to be bowled for one. He is unsure about playing one outside the off-stump and looks to defend tentatively only to drag it back on to the stumps.

After losing Dhawan to injury ahead of start of play, India have lost a wicket in the fourth over of the day to be in a spot of bother at 76 for two in the 27th over.

Ajinkya Rahane drives the fourth delivery from Johnson through the covers for two runs to get off the mark. He tries to pull the last ball of the over but top edges it over the keeper for a boundary behind the wickets.

India 71-1 (23 ovs) vs Aus | Scorecard

Skipper Steve Smith scored a controlled 133, Mitchell Johnson a game-changing 88 and Australia's tail wagged vigorously as the hosts barged their way back into the second Test against India on day three in Brisbane on Friday.

Australia took a first innings lead of 97 after being dismissed for 505 to bring up tea and India had shaved 71 runs off the deficit by the close of play for the loss of one second innings wicket.

Murali Vijay, who contributed 144 to India's first innings tally of 408, departed for 27, leaving Shikhar Dhawan (26 not out) and Cheteshwar Pujara, who had made 15, to resume on Saturday, 26 runs behind.

Australia had looked to be facing a sizeable deficit of their own when they lost two wickets in the first hour to slip to 247-6 but Smith and Johnson combined for a Gabba record seventh-wicket partnership of 148 runs from 160 balls.

Both fell to paceman Ishant Sharma in the same over an hour after lunch but Mitchell Starc (52) continued the resistance with his fourth test half century and partnerships of 56 with Nathan Lyon (23) and 51 with Josh Hazlewood (32 not out).

Starc was the last Australian batsman to fall but the left-armer returned after the innings break to bowl Vijay when the Indian made the mistake of leaving an angled delivery.

Smith, deputising for the injured Michael Clarke, became the first Australian to score a century in his maiden Test as captain since Graham Yallop in 1978.
05:40
Shikhar Dhawan was struck on the arm in the nets ahead of start of play on the fourth day and is unable to resume his batting. He was unbeaten on 26 from 65 balls at close of play on day three.
