Yuvraj Singh stole the show with a massive bid of Rs. 14 crore paid for him by Royal Challengers Bangalore, while Dinesh Karthik shocked many as Delhi Daredevils paid a whopping Rs. 12.5 crore to purchase him.
Delhi also managed to retain Kevin Pietersen for 9 crore, while Kings XI Punjab bagged Mitchell Johnson for 6.5 cr, who also got his Australian team mate Glenn Maxwell for 6 crore.

So, the IPL Auction has brought two former India coaches face to face in the form of John Wright and Gary Kirsten.While Wright successfully coached Mumbai Indians to the IPL title last year, Kirsten has taken over the Delhi Daredevils from the coming season onwards.
Kirsten had a successful run as the India coach, winning the World Cup in 2011 while also guiding the team to the No. 1 in Test rankings.

If the franchise chooses to exercise the RTM option, then they can buy the player for the amount of the highest bid made in the Player Auction
- No further bidding by any other franchises is possible once the RTM option is exercised.
- The franchises may take no more than four capped Indian players via a combination of retention prior to the auction and 'Right to match'
