India have a big problem up the order with both their openers struggling to carry on after getting off to good starts.

India will need to have a relook at their top order especially Rohit, who has struggled in overseas conditions.

Kohli was once again sensational with the bat, hitting 78 from 65 balls, but his dismissal once again signalled India's downfall.

Dhoni waged a lone battled towards the end, hitting 56 from 44 balls, but Southee played a major role with the bat claiming 4-72, while Anderson took three for 67.

India face a do or die match in Auckland on Saturday, having gone down 0-2 in the five-match series.

New batsman Ravindra Jadeja is faced with a huge task with no time to get settled.

Dhoni takes one from the third ball on the leg side as the run rate keeps climbing.

Raina then drives it to the right of the bowler but gets just one as Brendon McCullum makes a good diving stop at mid-off for one.

Dhoni gets an inside edge off the fifth ball as NZ make a muted appeal for LBW as India take a single.

Raina chances his arm off the last ball and manages to clear the fielder at mid-on for a boundary.

New Zealand bring back Southee to replace McClenaghan as Kohli clips the first ball to deep midwicket for one. Dhoni tries to pull the next ball but it doesn't bounce as high as expected and he is hit on the body and they take one.

Southee drops short as Kohli pulls it over midwicket for a boundary to take his score to 74.

But the same shot causes his downfall. This time the pull goes to the fielder at mid-on, who holds on to a good low catch.

Kohli walks back after a superb innings of 78 from 65 balls, having hit seven fours and two sixes, which helped India rally after their openers had perished cheaply.

New batsman Suresh Raina defends the first ball before he mistimes the heave on the leg side and gets just a couple to deep midwicket.

Shami was once again the top wicket taker for India, claiming three for 55 in seven overs. He was brilliant with the ball in the death overs bowling a lot of yorkers and mixing up his pace well.

Anderson provided the boost late in the innings with an amazing knock of 44 from 17 balls, hitting five sixes and two fours.

Williamson laid the foundation with a solid knock of 77 from 87 balls, while Taylor stroked 57 from 56 balls.
