India 223-7 (80 ovs) vs Eng | Scorecard

Rahane gets three runs as he pushes Stokes down the ground for three runs. Bhuvneshwar then steers the fifth ball through the vacant thirdman region to take India past the 200-run mark, in the 76th over.

Plunkett continues to bowl from round the wicket as Rahane pulls a short ball fine on the leg side for a four before he takes a single.

Stokes bowls a good over to Kumar as the second new ball is now just a couple of overs away.

Part-timer Ali comes back with a view to give the pacers a break before the new ball is taken.

Bhuvneshwar has done well with leaving the balls outside the off-stump but he is caught in two minds when playing against Stokes and ends up edging it past the slips for a four. The next ball is down the leg side and continues to slip away beating keeper Prior for four byes.

Rahane and Kumar have now put on 78 runs from 22.4 overs to register India's highest eighth wicket stand at Lord's.

After 80 overs, India have recovered 223 for seven and immediately England take the second new ball.
