Welcome to the coverage of Day 2 of the third Test match between India and England in Southampton, on Monday.

India will look to claim a few early wickets and check England's charge on the second day. The hosts were sitting pretty at stumps on Day 1 on 247 for two.

Left-hander Gary Ballance continued his good run with the bat and was unbeaten on 104 with Ian Bell (on 16) for company, the two having added 34 for the third wicket so far.

Captain Alastair Cook managed to break his run of poor scores as he played a fluent innings of 95 before he was caught behind off Ravindra Jadeja.
