Chris Woakes replaces Broad (18-3-49-2) in the attack and Jadeja welcomes him with an exquisite boundary through the covers.

A boundary by Jadeja, off Anderson, helps raise the 50-run partnership for the seventh wicket. He repeats the feat off Woakes.

However, Anderson cuts short his innings by trapping him out leg before. It's Anderson third wicket of the innings.

Jadeja's 52-ball 31 was incluisve of six hits to the fence and he helped his captain add 58 runs for the seventh wicket. But the partnership was clipped just when it looked set to prosper.

India: 252-6
England: 569-7

The pace of the Indian innings has slackened considerably.

The second new ball is taken in the 81st over. James Anderson to bowl. Dhoni survives a loud leg before shout off the fourth ball. It's a maiden.

Broad to bowl the second over. Root puts down Jadeja (14) at backward point off the final over.

England: 569-7

Moeen Ali to start the proceedings in the final session. He gives away two runs.

Stuart Broad to bowl the second over. He gives away only a single.

However, Moeen strikes a second time and this is a big wicket. The part-timer has the well-settled Rahane (54) caught by a substitute fielder Terry. It's a crucial wicket for England and India again pay a penalty for a rash shot.

Ravindra Jadeja joins his captain at the crease.
20:13

India: 214-5
England: 569-7

The Rahane-Rohit partnership seemed to have put India back on track but the latter's dismissal has ensured all the hard work goes down the drain.

England again have had the better of India in the second session, picking up two crucial wickets, despite India adding 106 runs.

The visitors reach 214 for five (after 68 overs) at tea, with Rahane (on 52) playing a lone ranger.
20:07

India: 212-5
England: 569-7

Again just when things look to have settled down for India, they lose a wicket.

Rohit Sharma (28) hits a Moeen delivery straight to Stuart Broad at mid-off. It's another rash shot by a settled batsman.

Rohit will be deeply disappointed with his dismissal. His 61-ball innings was inclusive of three boundaries and he helped Rhane add 74 for the fifth wicket.

Captain MS Dhoni comes in to bat with India in trouble.
19:51

India: 204-4
England: 569-7

Ali replaces a lacklustre Jordan (11-3-46-0) in the attack in the 57th over.

Rahane and Rohit are combining well here. A boundary by Rohit, off Moeen, helps raise the 50-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

It's the best partnership of the Indian innings thus far.

Rahane pulls Woakes for a boundary even as he closes in on his fifty. He takes three runs four balls later to move just one short of the landmark. Rohit also hits a boundary in the over - that costs England 11 - as India reach 199.

A single off Moeen helps Rahane complete his third Test fifty, in eight matches, the run also helpig India reach 200, in the 63rd over.

Three runs by Rohit Sharma, off Jordan, helps India get past the 150-run mark, in the 51st over.

Just when things seem to have settled down for India, James Anderson strikes. The England strike bowler has Kohli (39) caught by Cook at first slip. Anderson has struck in his fourth over after lunch.

Kohli's 75-ball knock was inclusive of three boundaries and he helped Rahane add 48 for the third wicket. However, he will rue missing out on a good start. He was the settled batsman and it was a soft dismissal.

Rohit Sharma is the new batsman in. And there's a bowling change, Jordan coming in for Woakes.

Ajinkya Rahane is lucky to survive. He gloves a Moeen Ali delivery and Buttler makes no mistake behind the stumps. However, the umpire is unmoved.

Hot Spot suggests glove was involved.

India reach 108 for three (after 40 overs) at lunch. Kohli is unbeaten on 18 and Rahane on 11.

However, one can safely say that the session belonged to England. All thanks to Stuart Broad.
17:13

India: 104-3
England: 569-7

Ajinkya Rahane is the new man in. He struggles to adapt early on.

The Indian batsmen rather expectedly have gone into the defensive. Cook brings back Woakes into the attack in the 34th over, giving Broad (10-3-23-2) a much-needed break.

It's a twin bowling change for England, Moeen Ali replacing Jordan (6-2-23-0). A couple by Rahane, off the fifth ball, helps India reach the 100-run mark.

The second England bowling change happens in the 27th over, Chris Jordan replacing Anderson (13-4-31-1). Kohli smashes the third ball through extra cover for his first boundary.

Vijay also helps himself to a boundary in the over, a fluent drive past mid-off. These two batsmen are combining well for India, having added 32 runs.

Just as I say this, Vijay (35) drags a Broad delivery onto his stumps.
16:17

India: 60-2
England: 569-7

England makes the first bowling change in the eighth over of the day - 22nd of the innings, Stuart Broad replacing Woakes (4-3-7-0).

Vijay gets his first boundary of the day in the second ball, his first runs of the morning.

However, Broad strikes in his second over, having Pujara (24) caught behind, Jos Buttler's first Test catch. It's a good short ball from Broad.
