LIVE IPL Final! Knight Riders win second title in three years

Awana to bowl the final over. Kolkata need five. 

Chawla hits the winning boundary off the third ball. 

Kolkata Knight Riders are the IPL champions, picking up their second title in three years.

Akshar Patel (4-0-21-0) has ended another super spell. Kolkata need 15 off the final two overs. Great match this has been. 

Johnson to bowl the penultimate over. He strikes with his second ball, having Yadav (5) caught by Vohra at deep midwicket.

Sunil Narine is the new man in.However, Chawla hits a six off Johnson's (4-0-41-2) last ball.

Ryan ten Doeschate is the new man in. He starts with a boundary off Patel but is dismissed attempting another one, Karanveer having him caught by Miller.

However, Pandey continues his onslaught, with a couple of sixes off Karanveer. The bowler albeit has the last laugh, having Pandey (94) caught by Bailey. 

Pandey's 50-ball innings was inclusive of seven hits to the fence and six over it. Karanveer ends with figures of 4-54.

Piyush Chawla joins Suryakumar Yadav at the crease.

Kolkata need 49 off the final five. 

And George Bailey strikes, his direct hit running out Shakib (12).

Balaji concedes 18 in his final over, with Yusuf hitting two sixes, to finish an expensive spell (4-0-41-0). 

Karanveer strikes again in his third over, having Yusuf (36) caught by Maxwell. 

Yusuf's 22-ball 36 was inclusive of four sixes and he helped Pandey add 71 runs (off 44 balls) for the third wicket. The latter eases the pressure with a six and a boundary in the over.

Shakib Al Hasan is the new man in.

Yusuf starts off with successive sixes off Karanveer. Akshar Patel in the attack in the 10th over. He gives away just two runs first up.

A boundary off Awana, followed by a six over deep midwicket, helps Pandey complete a well-deserved fifty. 

Kolkata also reach the 100-run mark in the over, that costs Punjab 18.

Karanveer Singh introduced into the attack in the seventh over, replacing Balaji (2-0-17-0). He strikes with his first ball, having Gambhir (23) caught by Miller left of long-on. 

In comes Yusuf Pathan. Pandey doesn't let the pressure affect him with a six off the leg spinner's second ball. Timeout.

Gambhir helps himself to a couple of boundaries in Johnson's second over, Kolkata getting 12 off it. 

Parwinder Awana replaces Balaji in the attack in the fourth over.  He goes for nine with Pandey hitting a boundary. 

Balaji replaces Johnson (2-0-22-1) at the other end in the fifth. Pandey welcomes him with a boundary straight past the bowler.

An overthrow helps raise the 50-run partnership for the second wicket. Kolkata manage 59 for one in the batting powerplay.

Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir come out to open for Kolkata and it will be Mitchell Johnson to start for Punjab. Uthappa smashes thr first ball past cover for a boundary. 

However, Johnson strikes with his third ball, having Uthappa (5) caught by Akshar Patel at point. Big wicket this.

Manish Pandey is the new man in. He begins with a boundary left of midwicket.

Narine to bowl the penultimate over. Saha takes 16 off the over to complete a well-deserved hundred. It's a first ever hundred in an IPL final. Narine ends with poor figures (4-0-46-1).

Yadav (4-0-39-1) bowls the last over. Punjab get 199-4. 

Saha remains unbeaten on 115.

Umesh Yadav replaces Morkel (4-0-40-0) in the attack in the 17th over and Saha helps himself to a couple of boundaries of the first three balls and a six off the last as 19 come off the over.

Chawla almost drops Vohra (67) but takes it on the second attempt in his final over. 

Vohra's 52-ball knock was inclusive of six boundaries and two sixes and helped Saha add 129 runs (off just 72 balls) for the third wicket. 

Glenn Maxwell is the new man in. He is out for a first ball duck, caught by Morkel.

Punjab: 140-2 (16 overs)

Narine drops Vohra (61) off his own bowling. The pressure is telling. However, the bowler has his man stumped two balls later. 

Oh wait! The batsman has been asked to come back. The keeper took the ball ahead of the stumps. It's a no ball. Vohra expresses his gratitude with a boundary.

Narine's second over is an expensive one, 19 runs coming off it with Saha taking 15 off them. He starts off with a six over deep midwicket, followed by two boundaries, the second of which helps him to a well-deserved fifty. 

A boundary off the last bowler, towards the cow corner, helps Vohra also complete his fifty. 

Second timeout is taken immediately after.

Morkel goes for 20 in his final over, as the 100-run partnership comes up.

Punjab are 32 for two after the first two overs, their lowest powerplay total in this IPL. 

Shakib Al Hasan replaces Morkel (3-0-20-0) in the attack in the seventh over. He gives away just four runs. 

It's a third bowling change in three over as Piyush Chawla replaces Narine in the eighth. Saha welcomes him with a boundary at deep midwicket. In his fifth ball, Vohra smashes the first six off the Punjab innings, over the same area.

Saha smashes a six off Shakib before hitting successive sixes off Chawla, the second of whcih helps raise the 50-run partnership for the third wicket.

Sunil Narine replacess Yadav (2-0-9-1) in the sixth over and strikes first ball, shattering the stumps of Bailey (1). 

Bailey's move to come at No.3 has boomeranged.

Six runs come off Morkel's second over with Vohra hitting an exquisite boundary over midwicket in the second ball. 

However, Yadav strikes for Kolkata in his second over, having Sehwag (7) caught by Gambhir at mid-off. 

George Bailey promotes himself up the order.

Virender Sehwag and Manan Vohra to open the batting for Punjab and it will be Morne Morkel first up for Kolkata. Nine runs come off the first over with Vohra finding the fence off the fourth ball. 

Umesh Yadav to bowl the second over. He gives away six runs first up, with Sehwag hitting a boundary off the final ball. 
19:39  Good evening and welcome to the live coverage of the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. 

The coin goes up for one final time and it is the Kolkata who have got it right. They invite Punjab to have a bat first.

"This is a good chasing ground," reasons captain Gautam Gambhir. His opposite number, George Bailey, admits he was unsure about what to do had he won.

"I wasn't really sure. But sometimes it is good to have runs on the board," he says. 

Kolkata has an unchanged side while Punjab has just one, Lakshmipathy Balaji coming in for Sandeep Sharma.
