Mumbai 87-1 (8 ovs) vs Delhi | Scorecard

Part-timer JP Duminy gets the ball. He restores some sanity to the proceedings, giving away just six runs in his first over.

With the spinners able to exert some control, Delhi introduce leg-spinner Imran Tahir into the attack.

He drops short as Simmons rocks back and cuts it through point for a boundary and repeats the shot following a wide for the same result.

Tahir continues to pitch short as Simmons helps himself to another cut shot but this time Parnell stops it inside the ropes to keep it down to two.

Simmons then hammers a full delivery down the ground for a four but the bowler gets revenge from the next ball.

Simmons tries to loft it over the cover region but is unable to make proper connection and is caught at sweeper cover after scoring 35 from 25 balls.

He has provided Mumbai with a solid platform, putting on 87 runs from 48 balls for the opening wicket with Hussey.
