Rahane out for 28, India lose first wicket

Rahane turns Mathews fine on the leg side to continue his fluent start as India reach 30 for no loss in six overs.

Rahane looks in supreme touch as he takes full toll of some width from Eranga and punches it through the covers for a four.

Rohit gets his first boundary as he pulls a short ball from Mathews through midwicket, in the eighth over. However, the Sri Lankan captain makes the first breakthrough with the wicket of Rahane, who is trapped leg before wicket after scoring a 28 from 24 balls, having hit six fours.

Rahane went back and looked to play across the line on the leg stump but missed the ball and was struck right in front of the stumps.

Ambati Rayudu walks in to bat at No. 3 and he starts with a single to take take India to 42 for one in eight overs.
