CLT20 Live: Miller, Akshar guide Kings XI to victory over Tridents

David Miller and Akshar Patel kept cool heads in the final overs to guide Kings XI Punjab to a four wickets win over Barbados Tridents in Mohali.

Chasing a stiff 175 for victory, Kings XI got off to a fast start courtesy of Manan Vohra, who smashed 19-ball 27. 

Sehwag then took over after Vohra's dismissal, picking off Tridents bowlers. 

But regular wickets slowed Kings XI's progress. But 19th over from Ravi Rampaul changed the complexion of the game as Askhar Patel hit two boundaries and a six to ease off the scoring.

Miller finished the game off with a massive six off Jason Holder as Kings XI maintained their unbeaten run in the tournament.

Barbados Trident are fighting hard in the middle as Mendis removes George Bailey for 7. 

Ashely Nurse further dented Kings XI as he had dangerous Thisara Perera walking back for nought. 

Barbados Trident well and truly on top now. 

Kings XI were 141-6 after 17 overs. David Miller is on 33, while Akshar Patel is yet to open his account.

Jeevan Mendis strikes a crucial blow as he removes well-set Virender Sehwag for 31.

Sehwag looking to sweep, was undone by a straighter one and was adjudged LBW, much to the delight of the bowler. 

At the end of 13 overs, Kings XI were 112-4.

Ravi Rampaul is keeping Barbados Tridents hopes alive as he removes Glen Maxwell for 16.
Maxwell flicked one off his pads only to hit one straight to Ashley Nurse at fine leg. 

Virender Sehwag meanwhile brought up Kings XI's 100 runs with a smashing boundary off Nurse in the next over. 

Kings XI were 102-3 after 11 overs. Sehwag is on 31, while David Miller is on 2.

Virender Sehwag and Wriddhiman Saha have steadied the ship after Vohra's dismissal. 

Sehwag has been at his belligerent best smashing JamesFranklin for a maximum. 

But as we speak, Franklin removes Saha for 14. 

Shaha looking to play the ball over point, only managed to hit it to Dilshan Munaweera.

At the end of 8 overs Kings XI were 81-2. Sehwag is on 25.

Ravi Rampaul strikes a crucial blow Barbados Titans as he removes Manan Vohra for 27.

Vohra was undone by a short one from Rampaul as Vohra looked to pull one into the stands only to hit it to Carter at midwicket. 

Vohra's 19-ball innings included three boundaries and one six. 

At the end of four overs, Kings XI were 42-1.

Kings XI Punjab are off to a positive start in the chase of 175. Manan Vohra has been the aggressive between the two openers. 

Virender Sehwag has been the silent partner with Vohra hitting the boundary boards twice and hitting one over it.

Brilliant half-centuries from Dilshan Munaweera and Raymon Reifer have helped Barbados Trident post a competitive 174-6

Tridents got off to a fast start as openers Munaweera and William Perkins put on a 54-runs stand. 

William Carter and Raymon Reifer further added 45 runs for third wicket to add to the progress. 

However Thisara Perrera's spell changed the game as he managed to two wickets in quick succession, which slowed the progress.

Elton Chigumbura is next one to walk back after he was undone by a quicker one by Thisara Perrera for 3.  

But Jason Holder and Raymon Riefer hits two massive sixes to ensure Tridents cross the 150-run mark. 

After 18 overs, Tridents were 150-5. Reifer is closing in on a a well-deserved half-century.

Thisara Perrera now strikes a crucial blow as he removes James Franklin for 10. 

Franklin looking to dispatch a short ball from Perrera was caught at deep short leg by Awana. 

Tridents are losing wickets at regular intervals now as they were 125-4 after 15 overs.

Jonathan Carter looking to be aggressive against the young pacer has caught in the deep by David Miller for 20.

Reifer-Carter added 45 runs for third wicket.

Experienced James Franklin in middle now for Tridents. 

Barbados Tridents were 109-3 after 13 overs.

Johnathan Carter uses the reverse sweep to help himself to a boundary. Carter takes a single. 

A single to end the over as Tridents reach 87-2 after 10 overs.

Parvinder Awana strikes a crucial blow for Kings XI Punjab as he had William Perkins walking back for 10.

Perkins was adjudged leg-before-wicket as Awana breaks the opening stand of 54 runs. 

Munaweera, meanwhile, completed his half-century off just 26-balls, smashing five boundaries and three sixes.

But the Sri Lankan batsman couldn't continue further as he was snapped up by Mannan Vohra off Awana in the same over.  

Tridents were 61-2 after 6 overs.

Barbados Titans are off to a positive start as openers William Perkins and Dilshan Munaweera taking advantage of some lose bowling. 

Both the openers have already hit the boundary boards. Munaweera being the aggressive of the two.

Perkins got a life as he was dropped on 9 by Virender Sehwag off Parwinder Awana. 

Munaweera took on Awana smashing him for a big six through midwicket area. 

At the end of  4 overs, 44-0. Munaweera is on 34, while Perkins is on 10.
