IPL Live! Chennai thrash Hyderabad for second straight win

A spectacular catch by Raina cuts short Karn Sharma's (4) innings and gives Bravo (4-0-25-2) his second wicket.

A single by Warner, off Ashwin, helps Hyderabad reach the 100-run mark, in the 14th over. Ashwin ends with impressive figures (4-0-22-1).

A boundary followed by a six over midwicket, off Ishwar, helps Warner complete a well-deserved fifty. 

However, Warner is dismissed soon after, an outstanding catch by Smith at deep midwicket ending his valiant innings (53 off 42 balls).

Kane Willaimson is the new man in.

Chennai: 209-4 (20 overs)

R Ashwin replaces Mohit (3-0-22-2) in the attack in the eighth over. He gives away four runs first up. 

It's a twin bowling change, with Dwayne Bravo coming in for Ishwar Pandey (1-0-7-0) in the next. He gives away seven runs first up. 

Ashwin strikes in his third over, having Ojha (15) caught by Mohit at long-off. 

Ravi Boapara is the new man in.

Chennai: 209-4 (20 overs)

KL Rahul (5) joins his captain at the crease. He begins with a cheeky boundary off Nehra. 

However, Mohit deceives him with a slower one and rattles his stumps. 

Naman Ojha joins his captain at the crease with Hyderabad in a spot of bother. Warner eases the pressure with a six apiece of Mohit and Ishwar Pandey.

Chennai: 209-4 (20 overs)

David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan open the batting for Hyderabad and it will be Ashish Nehra first up for Chennai. Dhawan hits a couple of boundaries as 10 runs come off the opening over. 

Mohit Sharma to bowl the second over. He gives away five runs with Dhawan finding the fence again. 

Mohit, however, strikes in his second over having Dhawan (26) caught by Ravindra Jadeja at backward point.

Chennai: 209-4 (20 overs)

A single by McCullum, off Bopara, helps raise the 50-run partnership for the third wicket, one that has come off just 28 balls. 

Dhoni helps himself to a couple of boundaries in the over to get to 49. Boult to bowl the final over, and a boundary off the first ball helps Dhoni reach a well-deserved fifty. 

Boult hits back in the next ball, a spectacular catch by David Warner ending Dhoni's (53) innings. The Chennai captain's 29-ball knock was inclusive of four boundaries and an equal number of sixes and he helped McCullum add 63 runs (off just 35 balls) for the third wicket. 

Ravindra Jadeja is run out of the first ball, rather sacrifices his wicket to give the strike to McCullum, who takes 13 off the last three balls to complete his second IPL hundred. 

Chennai manage 209 for four, with McCullum unbeaten on a 56-ball 100, his innings inclusive of seven boundaries and nine sixes.

It seems a lost cause for Hyderabad.

Chennai: 184-2 (18 overs)

A boundary by Dhoni, off Bopara, helps Chennai get past the 150-run mark, in the 16th over. Williamson also puts down McCullum (on 85) in the over. Time for the second strategic time-out. 

Dhoni cuts loose, first with a six off Kumar, and then three off Sharma's final over.

Chennai: 143-2 (15 overs)

Ishant's third over cost Hyderabad 23 runs. Besides, he just can't stop himself from overstepping.

McCullum continues with his onslaught, smashing successive sixes off Karn Sharma in the 13th over, the first of those helping raise the 50-run partnership for the second wicket. 

Bopara returns and his over again ensures Hyderabad a breakthrough, KL Rahul's direct hit cutting short Raina's (14) stay at the crease. 

Captain MS Dhoni comes out to bat.

Chennai: 119-1 (12 overs)

Parvez Rasool replaces Karan Sharma (2-0-17-0) in the 10th over. McCullum hits the second ball past cover for a boundary and three balls later, he smashes a huge six over long-on. 

Bhuvneswhwar is handed the ball in the next over. He gives away seven.

Ishant bowls the next and it is an expensive one. 

A six helps McCullum get to his fifty, and helps Chennai get past the 100-run mark. The New Zealand skipper then hits a boundary and a six off successive balls. 

Ishant has got it completely wrong here.

Chennai: 78-1 (9 overs)

A boundary by Smith, in the first ball of Ishant's second over, helps Chennai get past the 50-run mark, in the seventh over. 

McCullum also helps himself to a six over midwicket and a boundary over covers in the over that costs Hyderabad 16 runs. Ishant (2-0-23-0) is conveniently replaced by Ravi Bopara.

Hyderabad finally make the breakthrough in the ninth over, when a direct hit from Boult finds Smith (27) short of his crease. Smith's 26-ball innings was inclusive of four boundaries and a six and he helped McCullum add 75 runs for the opening wicket. 

Suresh Raina is the new man in.

McCullum cuts loose, first smashing Kumar for a huge six over deep midwicket and then hitting Boult straight for a boundary. 

Hyderabad make the first bowling change in the fifth over, Ishant Sharma replacing Kumar (2-0-17-0). He gives away seven runs first up with Smith finding the fence.

Twin bowling change, Karn Sharma replacing Boult (2-0-16-0) in the sixth over. McCullum smashes the second ball over deep square leg for a huge six.

Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith open the batting for Chennai and it will be Bhuvneshwar Kumar first up for Hyderabad. Smith mishits the fourth ball but its still goes to the fence, for the lone scoring shot of the over.

Trent Boult to bowl the second over. McCullum hits the second ball over cover point for four.

Good afternoon and welcome to the live coverage of the Indian Premier League match between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. 

The news is Chennai has won the toss and opted to bat first. 

"We have to see how the wicket behaves and how we bat in the first five-six overs," said captain MS Dhoni, when quizzed if it will be high scoring game. 

Chennai remain unchanged while Hyderabad are missing Dale Steyn.
