Brilliant half-centuries from openers David Warner and Shkhar Dhawan ensured safe passage for Sunrisers Hyderabad as they successfully chased down the total of 167.

After dismissing RCB for 166, Warner led the onslaught on RCB bowlers with a 24-ball blitz to virtually kill the contest.

Yuzvendra Chahal did fight back with two quick wickets, but a n unbeaten 78 runs partnership between Dhawan and KL Rahul, meant that the visitors had an easy 2 points in their kitty.

It was Rahul who hit the winning runs -- a six over backward square-leg off Varun Aaron as they chased down the target with 16 balls to spare.

Yuzvendra Chahal picks up his second wicket as he had Kane Williamson walking back to the pavillion for 5.

Chahal had Williamson stretching but he couldn't get back in the crease in time as wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik whipped the bails off in a flash.

SRH wobbling now as they were 95-2 after 10 overs. Shikhar Dhawan is on 27 and he is joined in the middle by KL Rahul, who is on 1.

Yuzvendra Chahal strikes an important blow as he removes David Warner for 57.

Chahal, who was hit a six, deceived Warner with a straighter one and was adjudged LBW.

Warner-Dhawan duo added 82 runs for the opening wicket.

Aaron digs one short, but Warner is equal to the task and pulls it for second boundary off the over.

Aaron follows it with another short delivery, as Warner gives himself a bit of room and smashes it for a maximum over point

Warner, meanwhile, completes his half-century with a single in the next over from Darren Sammy.

In the process, he equalled his fastest half-century in IPL, which was in just 24 balls.

Abu Nechim now introduced as Shikhar Dhawan hits one hard on to the turf -- no run.

Dhawan clips one off his pads for a single. Nechim digs one short, but Warner fails to capitalise.

Warner collects a single with a dab towards mid-on. Better over this for RCB as they have managed to get some sort of control.

Dhawan times one through the off-side, but goes straight to De Villiers in covers.

SRH were 43-0 from 5 overs. Warner is on 26, while Dhawan is on 16.

Varun Aaron now introduced and things don't change as Dhawan dispatched one through the off side for a boundary.

There is a slight delay in the play as Aaron wants some repairs to be done on the landing area.

Aaron bowls a good Yorker, as Dhawan barely manages to dig that out.

AB de Villiers dives full length to make an important save for RCB as Dhawan misses out on yet another boundary.

Openers David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan have already hit the boundary boards on more than one occasion.

Warner was the aggressive of the two as he took on Patel and smashed him for a six and three boundaries.

De Villiers walks across his off stump and smashes it for a boundary towards midwicket.

Boult strikes as he had De Villiers caught by Shikhar Dhawan, who was stationed at sweeper position.

De Villiers made 46 off just 28 balls, which included five hits to the fence and two over it.

Sean Abbot follows De Villiers to make it two in two for Boult.

Harshal Patel then slices one through the off side for a couple.

Boult picks up his third wicket as Harshal Patel top-edges one to Kane Williamson.

Abu Nechin finishes off the with a boundary through third man as RCB were 159-8 after 19 overs.

Ashish Reddy now introduced with five overs to go. First up De VIlliers picks up a brace.

De Villiers follows it up with another couple.

Reddy tries to bowl a slower delivery, but De Villiers dispatches it over backward square leg fence for a maximum.

De Villiers slogs for a single.

Reddy ends the over with the wicket of Darren Sammy. Sammy missed a yorker from Reddy as the ball crashed on to his off stump.

Sammy was on his way after making 6. RCB were 125-5 after 16 overs.

Ravi Bopara strikes a big blow as he castles well-set Virat Kohli for 41.

Bopara who was hit a boundary earlier in the over by AB de Villiers, came back strongly as Kohli missed a straight one and ball crashed on to his off stump.

SRH skipper David Warner then pulls off a stunner to make it two in the over as Mandeep Singh is on his way back without troubling the scorers.

RCB were 93-4 after 12 overs.

Kumar has his revenge as Gayle hits one straight to Ashish Reddy at square leg for 21.

Gayle had timed a leg-sidish delivery from Praveen to the only fielder stationed on the leg side.

Dinesh Karthik gets off the mark with a boundary through the fine-leg.

Trent Boult has the ball in his hands as Gayle is off the mark immediately with a single through third man.

Boult strays in his line as Kohli collects a bye.
