Tri-series Final Australia thrash England by 112 runs

Australia win by 112 runs. They are the champions of the Carlton Mid series, deserving one at that.

Jos Buttler is the new man. He doesn't last long, falling to Maxwell, who also accounts for Stuart Broad.

It is a lost cause. Ravi Bopara (33) wages a lone battle for England before becoming Maxwell's third victim, caught by Bailey at extra cover.

Mitchell Marsh replaces Hazlewood (5-2-12-1) in the attack in the 12th over. He starts off with a wide. England reach the 50-run mark in the over, courtesy a single by Root.

Another bowling change by Australia, Glenn Maxwell replacing Johnson (4-1-14-3). He gives away seven runs first up with Root finding the fence in the over.

James Faulkner replaces Marsh (4-0-9-0) in the 20th over. He strikes first up, having Root (25) out leg before.

Joe Root is the new man in. He begins with a boundary off Hazlewood. England reach 46 for two after 10 overs.

A ripper from Johnson, in his third over, cuts short Moeen Ali's (26) stay at the crease, Finch taking an easy class at first slip.

In his next ball Johnson knocks England skipper Eoin Morgan's stumps. Ravi Bopara survives the hat-trick ball. What a return.

England in trouble, having lost their four frontline batsmen with less than 50 runs on board.

Australia get an early breakthrough, Johsn Hazlewood having Ian Bell (8) caught behind. 

Moeen Ali albeit has got off to a great start, with a couple off boundaries of Starc and one of Johnson. 

Australia make the first bowling change in the seventh over, Mitchell Johnson replacing Starc (3-0-23-0).

He strikes in his second over, having James Taylor (4) caught by Maxwell.

Broad ends his spell with figures of three for 55. Anderson's figures (10-2-38-2) are more impressive. 

A six by Faulkner, off Woakes (0-89), helps Australia get past the 250-run mark in the penultimate over. In fact Woakes' final over costs England 24 runs, Faulkner helping himself to three huge sixes. 

Finn (1-53) to bowl the final over. He strikes with his third ball, having Johnson (3) caught by Morgan. 

Faulkner remains unbeaten on 50, reaching his fifty with a six off the last ball. Australia have put up a formidable total.

It won't be easy for England to chase 279.

A direct hit by Buttler cuts short Marsh's (60) at the crease. The 23-year-old's innings was inclusive of seven boundaries and a six. 

James Faulkner is the new man in. Broad gets his third wicket when he has Haddin (9) caught by Taylor at midwicket. 

Mitchell Johnson is the new man in.

Maxwell and Marsh added 141 runs (in 140 balls) for the fifth wicket, with the former hitting 15 boundaries in his innings. 

Brad Haddin is the new man in. 

A single off Moeen Ali helps Marsh complete his second ODI fifty. He celebrates it with successive boundaries off Broad.

Maxwell continues his assault with a five boundaries off Woakes, four in an over, and one off Anderson. In fact, Wokaes' ninth over costs England 18 runs. 

Australia make the most of the batting power play, scoring 46 runs without losing any wicket. 

Broad replaces Anderson (8-2-27-2) in the 41st over. He strikes with his final ball, having Maxwell (95) caught behind.

It's 146 for four after 35 overs. The batting power play comes in next. Woakes to bowl.

Marsh hits the third ball beyond square leg for a huge six. Anderson replaces Finn (8-0-37-0) in the attack in the 37th over. Maxwell welcomes him with a boundary to fine leg. 

In the same over Bopara puts down Marsh (on 32). The batsman takes a single of the next ball to bring up the 100-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

What a partnership this has been.

A boundary off Ali, his seventh, helps Maxwell complete his ninth ODI fifty.

Mitchell Marsh is the new man in. Maxwell eases pressure with a couple of boundaries in Finn's fourth over. 

Both the batsmen score at a fast pace. 

A boundary by Maxwell, off Broad, helps Australia get past the 100-run mark, in the 25th over.

England make their second bowling change, Steven Finn replacing an impressive Anderson (6-2-11-2) in the attack in the 13th over. He gives away just a single first up. 

Australia reach the 50-run mark in the 14th over, courtesy a single by Maxwell. 

Spin is introduced shortly after the drinks break, Moeen Ali replacing Broad (4-1-13-1) in the 18th over. He strikes with his fourth ball, having Smith (40) stumped. Australia in big trouble now.

Smith continues his assault on Woakes, getting his fourth boundary off the bowler, this time through mid-off. 

Anderson bowls two maidens in succession, his first spell figures making for an impressive read (5-2-10-2). 

England make the first bowling change in the 10th over, Stuart Broad replacing an expensive Woakes (4-0-29-0). He gives away just three runs first up.

In his second over, he generates steep bounce that surprises Bailey (2), who can only watch it pop to James Taylor at short leg.

Chris Woakes to bowl the third over. He gives away six runs first up. Anderson's second over has Warner scoring his first boundary, while Smith gets his first in Woakes' second.

Thereafter Smith takes a liking for Woakes, helping himslef to a couple of boundaries in the bowler's third over. 

The Australian captain has raced to 21 off 16 deliveries.

However, Anderson puts the brakes again, surprising Warner (12) with a ball that climbs a bit, the batsman spooning a catch to James Taylor at point.
