It's a twin bowling change, Nathan Lyon replacing Harris (4-1-6-0). Rohit welcomes him with a huge six.

Harris chips the first ball he faces, off Kumar, over extra cover for a boundary, the shot helping Australia get to the 550-run mark, in the 152nd over. The second ball is also meted out with a similar treatment.

Harris gets two more boundaries off the over, one that costs India 19 runs. Kumar is clearly struggling. And with this pace he can't be the leader of this Indian attack.

Harris (25) hits Shami to the fence as well but becomes the bowler's fifth victim, caught by Ashwin at deep backward square leg.
10:10

Australia: 546-6

And we are back! For the final session. Bhuvneshwar Kumar to begin the proceedings. He gives away four runs.

Shami to bowl the second over. Burns welcomes him with a boundary over mid-off. He however, perishes attempting a repeat, KL Rahul taking a good catch running back.

Burns' 114-ball 58 was inclusive of 10 hits to the fence. He became Shami's fourth victim of the innings.

Ryan Harris is the new man in.
09:42

Australia: 538-5 (149 overs)

Having lost out on the day's opening session to India, Australia have regained the advantage. The hosts have dominated the second session on Day Two, having added 118 runs (in 29 overs) for the loss of just one wicket.

As tea is taken, Australia have reached 538 for five (after 149 overs).

Joe Burns is batting on 52, and giving him company is Brad Haddin on seven.
09:33

Australia: 535-5

Shami replaces Yadav (27-5-137-1) in the 147th over. Marsh hits the first ball to between midwicket and mid on for his ninth boundary.

However, the bowler responds three balls later, having Marsh (73) caught behind.

Marsh's 116-ball innings was inclusive of nine boundaries and a six, and he helped Burns add 114 runs for the fifth wicket.

In comes Brad Haddin and he starts off with a huge six straight past the bowler's head.

Australia: 529-5

Shami replaces Yadav (27-5-137-1) in the 147th over. Marsh hits the first ball to between midwicket and mid on for his ninth boundary.

Marsh's 116-ball innings was inclusive of nine boundaries and a six, and he helped Burns add 114 runs for the fifth wicket.
09:25

Australia: 525-4

Australia have got 66 runs in the first 17 overs after lunch, having got just 24 in the hour before.

A single by Marsh, off Yadav, helps Australia reach the 500-run mark, in the 143rd over. It is the fourth time in the series that they have reached the mark.

India also becomes only the fifth side ever to concede more than 500 runs at least four times in a series. Explains a lot about the quality of this Indian bowling attack.

Successive boundaries off Yadav and another off Ashwin takes Burns close to his maiden half century. A single by Burns, off Yadav, helps raise the 100-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

A boundary off Ashwin helps Burns to his maiden Test fifty. He has done well to survive a tentative start, and go on the offensive thereafter.
08:42

Australia: 486-4

Bhuvneshwar Kumar replaces Shami (25-3-89-2) in the attack in the 132nd over. Burns hits the fourth ball to the fence.

A boundary off Bhuvneshwar, his sixth, takes Marsh to 48.

Raina replaces Ashwin (44-8-131-1) in the 135th over. A single off him takes Marsh to his third Test fifty, his second in succession - after his 99 in Melbourne.

What a terrific comeback this has been. Remember, Marsh scored just 17 runs in four Tests when India toured Down Under in 2011-12.
08:18

Australia: 468-4

Ashwin goes for another seven runs in his 41st over, with Marsh finding the midwicket fence. The over, the 127th of the Australian innings, also witnesses the home team get past the 450-run mark.

With the Raina experiment having backfired, Kohli hands the ball back to Shami in the next over. Marsh hits the first ball straight past the bowler for his fourth boundary.

Marsh takes a single off Shami to bring up the 50-run partnership for the fifth wicket. A good, solid stand this has been.
07:50

Australia: 435-4

Welcome back for the second session from Sydney. Ashwin to start the proceedings. Burns welcomes him with successive boundaries on either side of the wicket.

It took him 19 balls to get off the mark but Burns did so in style with a cover drive. Raina to continue. Marsh welcomes him with a six.

Australians have come out positive after the break.
07:02

Australia: 420-4 (120 overs)

India miss out on another wicket, as Vijay puts down Marsh (on 9) at gully, off Ashwin.

Suresh Raina to bowl the last over before tea, replacing Yadav (23-4-119-1). Marsh welcomes him with a boundary.

Australia reach 420 for four at lunch (120 overs) on Day Two. The first session has belonged to India, one can say, with just 72 runs added and the visitors picking up the the two set batsmen - Watson and Smith.

Marsh is unbeaten on 14 with Burns yet to open his account.
06:47

Australia: 416-4

Steve Smith's innings finally comes to an end when Yadav has him caught behind. His 208-ball 117 was inclusive of 15 hits to the fence.

Yadav, after bowling 20 overs at almost six runs per over, finally has a wicket in his 21st.

Joe Burns replaces his captain at the crease. The good news for India is, there are two new batsmen at the crease.
06:21

Australia: 402-3

R Ashwin is handed the ball in the 103rd over, replacing Bhuvneshwar (26-4-78-0). He gives away just two runs first up.

Australia have added 48 runs (in 14 overs) in the first hour of play on Day Two.

Saha puts down Smith (on 111) off Ashwin. A single by Watson, off the same bowler, helps Australia reach 400, in the 107th over.

India get their first success of the day, a much needed one at thta, when Watson (81) hits a Shami delivery straight to Ashwin at deep midwicket.

Watson's 183-ball innings was inclusive of seven boundaries and he helped his captain add 196 runs for the third wicket. Watto missed out on a hundred.

Shaun Marsh is the new man in.
05:44

Australia: 383-2

India make the first bowling change in the 98th over, Umesh Yadav replacing Shami (19-3-68-1). Smith hits a boundary to square leg as seven runs come off the over.

Yadav bowls a full toss and Smith conveniently despatches it to the mid on fence to reach his eight Test hundred.

The Australian captain has now hit centuries in all the four Tests in the series and scored almost 700 runs.
05:25

Australia: 363-2

Bhuveneshwar Kumar starts the day for India with a maiden. Australia reach the 350-run mark in the second over, bowled by Mohammed Shami.

A couple by Watson, off Kumar, helps raise the 150-run partnership for the third wicket.
