Elliott falls for 83, New Zealand continue to slip

NZ 171-8 (42 ovs) vs Aus | SCORECARD

Elliott continues his positive approach despite wickets falling from the other end. Faulkner drops one short and Elliott pulls it through midwicket for a four.

But the pacer gets revenge a few deliveries later as he looks to heave it on the leg side but is beaten by the slower ball. That was a wild swing of the bat but he is completely deceived by the change of pace and gets an edge which is gleefully accepted by Haddin behind the stumps.

A huge round of applause for Elliott as he walks after a superb knock of 83 from 82 balls, having hit seven fours and a six.

The big question now is if New Zealand can even get 200?
