Pujara is unbeaten on 63, with his captain batting on 11. A massive 112 runs were scored in the final session (33 overs), with Vijay being the lone wicket coming South Africa's way.

Vernon Philander is the new man in. AB eases the pressure a bit with successive boundaries off Ashwin. 

But South Africa have a mountain to climb. 

At lunch, the visitors have reached 127 for five (49 overs), still 74 runs adrift of the Indian total. AB is undefeated on 26, and Philander on two.

The morning session witnessed 99 runs being scored (in 29 overs), with SA losing three wickets.

However, Amla isn't as lucky. The ball ricochets off Saha and Amla (43) is stumped off Ashwin. 

The SA captain's 97-ball innings was inclusive of six hits to the fence. 

But his dismissal leaves his side in doldrums.

AB de Villiers is the new man in. So South Africa have their two best batsmen at the crease now. 

AB survives a loud caught behind appeal off Jadeja, with umpire Dharmasena warning the bowler (for excessive appeal). 

AB expresses his relief with a boundary to third man. A boundary to third man by Amla (off Jadeja) takes the batsman into his 40s. 

Four byes helps the visitors get past the 100-run mark, in the 44th over. AB keeps flirting with danger though.

However, Jadeja strikes immediately after, having AB (7) caught by Kohli. But hold on! It's a no-ball. Ashwin had survived Rabada courtesy a no-ball. And now luck smiles on AB.

A poor shot costs Elgar his wicket, Ashwin having him caught by Jadeja at backward point. 

Elgar's 123-ball 37 was inclusive of just two hits to the fence and he helped his captain add 76 runs for the third wickets. 

However, he is guilty of throwing his wicket away.

Another bowling change, in the 34th over. Ravindra Jadeja replaces Aaron (6-1-11-0). Just a single off his first over. 

Ashwin's third over of the day is a tad expensive, seven coming off it with Amla finding the fence.

The South African batsmen have negotiated the first hour of play, having added 49 runs in the process. 

Change of ends for Mishra, replaces Jadeja (6-0-8-1) in the 36th over. Three off his over. 

In the next over, Jadeja has a change of ends, replacing Ashwin (11-3-21-1). Amla drives him to the fence.

There's a run out appeal in the over but Elgar is well in. Just a single off it.

A boundary through point by Elgar, in Ashwin's second over of the day, helps raise the 50-run partnership for the third wicket. It has come in at a time when the visitors needed it the most. 

Amla uses his feet to get a boundary off Ashwin.
