As expected, play has been called off on Day 3 because of rain, resulting in two successive days of no cricket in the second Test in Bangalore.

The drizzle continues and the umpires had no choice but to call off play as early as 1130 after the end of what would have been the first session on the third day.

It remains to be seen if there is any chance of play on Day 4. But the weather forecast is not too encouraging for the remaining two days and we would be lucky if we get any more play in this Test match.

Weather permitting, Day-4 will begin at 0915 IST.

There is no sign of the rain stopping yet as it continues to drizzle steadily resulting in a lot of water getting accumulated on the covers.

There are small puddles of water on the edges of the covers and also on some parts of the ground.

The two teams are still stationed in their hotel and it looks like they might spend their entire day there.

Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, India bowling coach Bharat Arun spoke to the media on Sunday and gave details on how pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has fallen out of favour.

In other news, Ross Taylor is closing in on a triple century in the second Test match against Australia at WACA. He is currently batting on 283 but has just the lastman Trent Boult for company. Check out the scorecard

Play was supposed to start at 0915 IST, 15 minutes earlier than scheduled after the second day's play was washed out.

However, once again rain has played spoilsport.

The weather forecast is not encouraging either and it would not be a surprise if there is no play again on the third day.

Welcome to the coverage of Day 3 of the second Test match between India and South Africa in Bangalore, on Monday.

Well, the news from the M Chinnaswamy is not so good as the start has once again been delayed because of rain. The rain continues to fall down steadily and the ground is under covers which means atleast the first session has been washed out, meaning there will be no play till lunch.

"It is still drizzling here in Bengaluru. The covers are on and there will be no play until 11:30am IST," BCCI said on Twitter.

The second day's play was washed out because of rain and things don't look encouraging yet again as far as Day 3 is concerned.
