Australia fast bowler Kane Richardson with a base price of 2 crore gets the only bid from Royal Challengers Bangalore, who also successfully buy West Indian spinner Samuel Badree for 50 lakh.

Meanwhile, former India spinner Pragyan Ojha remains UNSOLD.

Australia's Joel Paris is bought by Delhi Daredevils for 30 lakh.

Ashok Dinda with a base price of 50 lakh comes up again. Pune Supergiants make the opening bid and that is the only bid as Dinda is sold for his base price.

Australia's James Pattinson with a base price of 1.5 crore goes unsold

Deepak Punia is sold for his base price of 10 lakh to Mumbai Indians, who have been quite active in the last session.

Swapnil Singh sold to Kings XI Punjab for his base price of 10 lakh.

Syed Khaleel Ahmed also goes for the same price to Delhi Daredevils. But there seems to be some problem as Delhi check if he is the same player they have been tracking. They verify the details with the IPL team and confirm the purchase at 10 lakh.

Jaydev Shah with a base price of 20 lakh gets the opening bid from Gujarat Lions and that turns out to be the only bid for the Gujarat batsman.

Pratyush Singh is bought by Delhi Daredevils for 10 lakh.

17:15   Hardik Pandya's brother Krunal sold to Mumbai for 2 crore
Pradeep Sahu is sold to Kings XI Punjab for 10 lakh.

Krunal Pandya, with a base price of 10 lakh, is another surprise candidate who evokes a lot of interest. He is the brother of Indian T20 player Hardik Pandya.

Once again it's Delhi vs Mumbai to sign up the Baroda all-rounder.

The price has surged up more than 10 times as the bid crosses the one-crore mark.

And soon it doubles up as Mumbai snap up Pandya for 2 crore.


17:10   Mumbai Indians buy Kishore Kamath for 1.4 crore
Kishore Kamath, who starts with a base price of 10 lakh, is shown strong interest from RCB and Mumbai Indians as the price goes up to 50 lakh.

Sunrisers, as usual, make a late entry as the price keeps going up.

This is another shocking bidding war for an unknown player as Sunrisers and Mumbai take the price past the one-crore mark.

So, finally Sunrisers pull out as KP Kamath is bought by Mumbai for 1.4 crore.

Vidarbha all-rounder Akshay Karnewar with a base price of 10 lakh is sold for his starting price to RCB.  He is one of those rare bowlers, who can bowl off-spin and can bowl left-arm spin.

Gujarat Lions continue to get players at a good rate as they bag Aksh Deep Nath for 10 lakh.

Manan Sharma is sold for his base price of 10 lakh to KKR.

Tamil Nadu's Baba Aparajith is sold at the same base price to Pune Supergiants and they also purchase Deepak Chahar for the same amount.

England fast bowler Chris Jordan with a base price of 1 crore goes UNSOLD

Next up is Australia's Andrew Tye with a base price of 30 lakh. He is sold to Gujarat Lions for 50 lakh after Pune also made a few bids.

New Zealand off-spinner Nathan McCullum with a base price of 50 lakh remains UNSOLD

Praveen Dubey sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for 35 lakh after he started with a base price of 10 lakh.

R Satish sold to KKR for 20 lakh, while Vijay Shankar is bought by Sunrisers for 35 lakh.

Left-arm spinner Shadab Jakati is sold for his base price of 20 lakh to Gujarat Lions.

West Indies captain Jason Holder with a base price of 50 lakh gets the opening bid from KKR and are joined in by Delhi Daredevils.

New Zealand's run-machine Martin Guptill comes up for sale yet again with a base price of Rs. 50 lakh. He remains UNSOLD!!!

South Africa's batting mainstay Hashim Amla with a base price of 1 crore remains unsold. Australia's limited overs specialist George Bailey with a base price of 1 crore also finds no buyers.

Veteran Michael Hussey with a starting price of 2 crore also stays unsold for the second time.

The in-form Usman Khawaja with a base price of 1 crore finds no buyer yet again and will stay unsold.

England wicketkeeper Sam Billings with a base price of 30 lakh has been called into the auction again and gets the opening bid from Delhi Daredevils. With no other buyer interested, Billings is snapped up for his base price by Delhi.

Mystery spinner K C Cariappa, who was bought for 2.4 crore in the last auction by KKR, is having another good day.

Kings XI Punjab make the opening bid at 10 lakh before RCB also enter the fray. The price goes up to 80 lakh and he is bought by Punjab.

Veteran leg-spinner Pravin Tambe, who played for Rajasthan Royals in the last few seasons, starts with an opening bid of 10 lakh from Gujarat Lions.

Just one bid from Delhi before Gujarat bag the player at 20 lakh.

Shivil Kaushik, who has not yet played first class cricket, is also sold to Gujarat for his base price of 10 lakh.

Gujarat Lions making a flurry of spinner purchases as leg-spinner Sarabjeet Ladda is sold for his base price of 10 lakh

Tamil Nadu's Murugan Ashwin with a base price of 10 lakh soon sees his base price cross the one-crore mark courtesy of RCB and Pune Supergiants with both teams not willing to relent.

Within a minute the price soars past the four-crore mark with Pune bidding a massive 4.5 crore for the little known Ashwin.

The next set is the uncapped fast bowlers.

Rajasthan's impressive youngster Nathu Singh gets the opening bid from RCB at 10 lakh before Delhi jump into the fray. There are a lot of quickfire bids coming from both teams as the price goes past the three-crore mark.

Delhi pull out of the race before Mumbai make a fresh bid at 3.2 crore forcing even RCB to give up.

Left-arm pacer Pradeep Sangwan with a base price of Rs. 20 lakh gets the opening bid from Gujarat Lions and is sold for the same price.

Delhi Daredevils buy Pawan Negi for 8.5 crore

India's latest addition to the T20 squad Pawan Negi is up next. He starts with a base price of Rs. 30 lakh. Pune Supergiants make an opening bid before Delhi jump into the fray.

A massive bidding war to secure the left-arm spinner is not a surprise after his inclusion into the Indian team for the Asia Cup and World T20.

Before you can catch your breath his price has crossed the 2.5 crore mark. No stopping the two franchises who take the bid past the eight crore mark.

This is huge amount for the all-rounder, more than what Yuvraj Singh got!

The next set up for grabs is uncapped all-rounders.

First name out is former KKR spinner Iqbal Abdulla, who is sold to RCB for his base price of Rs. 10 lakh.

Former Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Deepak Hooda gets the opening bid of Rs. 10 lakh from KKR followed by Gujarat Lions.

A few rounds of bids follow as the bid soon zooms past the one-crore mark before Gujarat give up on the player.

Sunrisers Hyderabad take the bidding to a completely new level with the price soaring past the three-crore mark in a matter of a minute or two.

The 20-year-old Baroda player is enjoying a jackpot day as KKR up the bid to Rs. 4 crore before Sunrisers take it to 4.2 crore.

Baroda wicketkeeper Pinal Shah with a base price of Rs. 10 lakh goes UNSOLD.

Karnataka keeper CM Gautam with a base price of 20 lakh goes UNSOLD

Mumbai captain and keeper Aditya Tare with a 20 lakh base price gets the opening bid from Sunrisers Hyderabad followed by Mumbai Indians.

The two teams engaged in some aggressive bidding taking the amount past the one-crore mark.

Mumbai are not willing to stretch it further as Tare goes to Hyderabad for 1.2 crore.

Ankush Bains, Dishant Yagnik and Manvinder Singh Bisla go UNSOLD to conclude the set of uncapped wicketkeepers.

UP wicketkeeper Eklavya Dwivedi with a base price of Rs. 20 lakh gets bids from Gujarat Lions and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

He goes for a surprise price of Rs. 1 crore to Gujarat Lions.

14:36   U-19 star Pant sold to Delhi Daredevils for 1.9 crore
India Under-19 team's batting sensation Rishabh Pant with a base price of Rs. 10 lakh is up next and he attracts instant bids from Mumbai Indians and RCB.

He hit a quickfire century in the ongoing U-19 World Cup and no surprise that his bid touches the one-crore mark in a matter of a couple of minutes.

Delhi Daredevils make a late entry with a 1.9 crore bid forcing RCB and Mumbai Indians to pull out.

The uncapped wicketkeepers will be up next.

India Under-19 captain Ishan Kishan gets an opening bid of Rs. 10 lakh from Pune followed by Gujarat Lions.

The latter manage to successfully bag the player at Rs. 35 lakh.

14:24   Delhi Daredevils buy Karun Nair for a huge 4 crore
Karnataka's batsman Karun Nair starts with a base price of Rs. 10 lakh.

Pune Supergiants make the first bid with Delhi Daredevils jumping into the fray for the former Rajasthan Royals player.

The price is going up at a good rate as it crosses the 50-lakh mark. Gujarat Lions also coming into the race as they take the bid past the one-crore mark.

Delhi Darevils refuse to budge before Sunrisers make another late move with a 1.5 crore bid.

The two franchises swell the bid 20 times his base price as Delhi take it past the two-crore mark. The two teams keep coming up with counter offers to breach the three-crore mark and soon the bid crosses the four-crore mark.

Sunrisers have had enough and let Delhi keep the player at a massive four crores.

The action resumes after the lunch break and we move on to the Uncapped players.

The first set among the Uncapped player is the set of batsmen:

First name out is Kerala's Sachin Baby with a base price of Rs. 10 lakh. RCB make the first move and manage to secure the player at his base price.

Shane Watson is the highest paid player at the auction so far, bought by RCB for a massive 9.5 crore.

Yuvraj is second best at 7 crore, sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad, the same amount which Delhi Daredevils paid to Christopher Morris to leave a few shell-shocked.

Mohit Sharma also got a huge pay packet as Kings XI Punjab bought him for 6.5 crore ahead of veteran Ashish Nehra, who was bought by Hyderabad for 5.5 crore.

Little-known West Indian Carlos Brathwaite was easily the most shocking purchase of the day, bought by Delhi for a huge 4.2 crore.

Current India fast bowler Barinder Sran gets the opening bid of Rs. 50 lakh from Pune Supergiants.

Gujarat Lions back in action now as the two new franchises trigger a bidding frenzy.

Sunrisers join in quite late as the bid goes past the one-crore mark with Gujarat Lions not willing to back down.

It is Sunrisers, who buy the player for 1.2 crore.

South Africa Kyle Abbott is next up with a base price of Rs. 30 lakh.

RCB make the first bid before Kings XI Punjab challenge them to up the stakes further. Infact, the price has gone up four times to cross the 1.2-crore mark.

Both teams not willing to give up easily as the price goes past the 2 crore mark.

Finally it is Punjab, who buy the player for a huge 2.1 crore after he started with a base price of 30 lakh.

India's discard Jaydev Unadkat with a base price of Rs. 30 lakh gets the opening bid from Kolkata Knight Riders. As expected, Gujarat Lions also enter the fray to push up the price to double the base price.

Sunrisers Hyderabad come into the picture after Gujarat pull out of the race but KKR continue to hold strong pushing the price past the 1 crore mark.

The sequence of UNSOLD players is finally broken as KKR make the opening bid for West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite, who starts with a base price Rs. 30 lakh.

An intense bidding war for the all-rounder as Delhi Daredevils and KKR refuse to budge and take the price to a massive Rs. 3 crore in no time.

KKR continue to bid aggressively, taking the bid past the 4 crore mark putting the Delhi table into deep thought.

Delhi continue to bid before finally buying Brathwaite for a huge Rs. 4.2 crore

Just when it looked that Punjab had bagged Mohit for Rs. 4.8 crore, Sunrisers Hyderabad jump into the fray with a 5 crore bid.

The in-form Australian Usman Khawaja is next up, he starts with a base price of Rs. 1 crore. He had a great run in the BBL T20 tournament but no franchises want to buy him and he goes UNSOLD

So, Australia's veteran all-rounder Shane Watson was the highest among the Marquee List with a massive selling price of Rs. 9.5 crore to Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Yuvraj Singh
was the second best with Rs. 7 crore, bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad, who also bough veteran Ashish Nehra for Rs. 5.5 crore.

Ishant Sharma was bought by new team Pune Supergiants for Rs. 3.8 crore, who also bought former England captain Kevin Pietersen for Rs. 3.5 crore.

Dale Steyn and Dwayne Smith went for an identical Rs. 2.3 crore, bought by new team Gujarat Lions.

But surprisingly, New Zealand's batting sensation Martin Guptill and Australia's T20 captain Aaron Finch, both of whom who have done well at the international level recently went unsold.

Meanwhile, Delhi Daredevils have not made a single bid in the opening round. Are they asleep? What are they waiting for?

RCB enter the fray to get back their player, whom they paid a hefty Rs. 14 crore in 2014.

After a slow start, there is a crazy bidding frenzy between RCB and Mumbai as the price goes up to Rs. 4 crore in no time.

And the bids continue to roll as Mumbai back out after RCB take the bid to Rs. 5.5 crore.

Sunrisers Hyderabad enter the fray with another late bid of Rs. 6 crore but RCB not willing to back down.

Yuvraj and Ishant are the two Indian marquee players and it remains to be seen how they fare in the auction after being released by their respective teams.

Yuvraj has been released by his franchise, Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore, for the last two seasons after attracting the highest bid in the previous auctions while Sunrisers Hyderabad let go of Ishant after he had a forgettable last edition where he picked up one wicket in four games.

The remaining seven marquee players are Shane Watson, Aaron Finch, Dale Steyn, Dwayne Smith, Martin Guptill, Ashish Nehra and Pietersen.

Yuvraj Singh, Ishant Sharma and Kevin Pietersen will be among the eight marquee players up for grabs at the IPL 2016 Player Auction scheduled to kick-off, in Bengaluru later today.

As many as 351 cricketers will go under the hammer, out of which 230 will be Indians and 131 foreigners.

Interestingly, there are 29 Australians amongst 130 capped players in the auction list, three more than the number of capped Indians.

The capped players from other countries taking part in the auction come from South Africa (18 players), West Indies (20), Sri Lanka (16), England (7), New Zealand (9) and Bangladesh (5), besides the associate nations of Canada (2) and Ireland (2).

A total of 219 uncapped players will feature in the auction with 204 of them being Indians playing on the domestic circuit.
