India eye revenge against Bangladesh in opener

Welcome to the coverage of the opening match of Asia Cup 2016 between hosts Bangladesh and India in Mirpur, on Wednesday.

It rained heavily earlier in the day leaving a big question over the match but the rain has stayed away for the last couple of hours and the conditions are quite okay at the moment.

The teams have arrived at the stadium and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has gone over to the pitch to have a look.

Dhoni had suffered a muscle spasm during a training session on Monday forcing the selectors to rush Parthiv Patel as a cover.

It remains to be seen if Dhoni has recovered from his injury and will lead India in the opening match of the tournament.
