2nd ODI Live! Australia thrash India at The Gabba

Bailey and Maxwell have added more than 50 runs for the fourth wicket, scoring at the rate of eight. Australia need 10 off their last two overs.

A single by Bailey, off Yadav, helps the home team get to the 300-run mark, in the penultimate over. 

And Australia win with six balls to spare. Bailey remains unbeaten on 76 (off 58 balls), and given him company was Maxwell (on 26)

It is the highest ever total chased at The Gabba. 

Australia take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

Bailey and Maxwell are picking up runs in a canter at Gabba, scoring at almost eight an over.

A single by Bailey, off Yadav, helps Australia get to the 250-run mark, in the 43rd over. 

Sran replaces Jadeja (8-0-46-1) in the 44thover. Bailey smashes the first ball for a six over long off, the shot helping him complete his 18th ODI fifty in style. 

He celebrates the same with another boundary to third man.

Australia need 70 to win in the final 10 overs. They have paced the chase really well. 

Smith and Bailey are scoring at more than seven runs an over. 

Yadav strikes in his eighth over, knocking over Smith's (46) stumps.

The Australian captain's 47-ball innings was inclusive of four boundaries, and he helped Bailey add 78 runs (off just 66 balls) for the third wicket.

A single by Bailey, off Ashwin, helps Australia get to the 200-run mark, in the 36th over. 

Another single by Bailey, off Ashwin, helps raise the 50-run partnership for the third wicket. 

Ashwin ends another horrendous spell (10-0-60-0). On conditions that aren't exactly conducive, the bowler has no tricks up his sleeve. 

Ishant replaces Ashwin and bowls an expensive over, both the batsmen helping themselves with boundaries.

George Bailey joins his captain at the crease. The last time these two were together, they had added 242 runs. 

Australia need 100 less this time, having reached 166 for two after 30 overs. 

India make a bowling change in the 31st over, Sran replaces Jadeja (7-0-42-1). Eight off his over. 

It's a twin bowling change, Aswhin replacing Ishant (7-0-30-1) in the 32nd over. 

In a surprising move Dhoni hands Kohli the ball in the 35th over, replacing Sran (7-1-34-0). It doesn't work out.

Steve Smith, the Australian captain, is the new man in. 

After 25 overs, the home team have made 145 for one. Ishant is handed the ball in the 26th over, replacing an expensive Yadav (5-0-37-0).

A boundary by Smith, off Jadeja, helps Australia get past the 150-run mark, in the 27th over. 

Marsh is having a lucky day. He gets a fourth reprieve (at 70) when Manish Pandey puts him down at first slip off Ishant. 

However, finally Marsh's luck runs out, a leading edge off Ishant is easily caught by Kohli. 

Marsh's 84-ball 71 was inclusive of five hits to the fence.

Jadeja replaces an expensive Yadav (4-0-30-0) in the 23rd over but there's no respite for India. 

Finch starts off with a boundary while Marsh helps himself to successive hits to the fence in the over, that costs India 15 runs. 

Yadav is unlucky as Sran puts down Marsh (on 57). 

Jadeja finally strikes for India, having Finch caught by Rahane at long off. 

Finch's 81-ball innings was inclusive of seven hits to the fence, and one over it, and he helped Marsh add 145 runs for the opening wicket.

Finch cuts loose in Yadav's fourth over, with a couple of boundaries - the second helping Australia get past the 100-ru mark in what is the 21st over - followed by a huge six, the latter helping him complete his 10th ODI fifty.

In the next over, by Ashwin, Marsh completes his fifth ODI fifty.

After 15 overs, Australia have made 64 without loss. There has been just one boundary in the last 10 overs. 

Umesh Yadav is back to bowl the 17th over, replacing Jadeja (3-01-4-0). Marsh welcomes him with a cracking boundary past mid-off. Three balls later, he finds the fine leg fence. 

After 20 overs, Australia has reached 93 without loss.

It's a twin bowling change, Ravindra Jadeja replacing Sran (5-1-18-0) in the 11th over. He gives away five runs first up.

Jadeja is unlucky as Ishant puts down Marsh (on 19) at long on. A single off Finch helps Australia get to the 50-run mark, in the 13th over.

Australian bowlers have come back well in the last few overs. Boland ends with figures of 1-64, good in the context of the match. 

Faulkner strikes in his final over, the penultimate of the innings, having Rahane (89) caught by Smith. 

Rahane's 80-ball innings was inclusive of six hits to the fence, and one over it.

Rohit has been dismissed after scoring 295 runs in two matches. 

Captain MS Dhoni is the new man in. After 45 overs, India has reached 270 for three. What lies ahead in the last five overs?

Boland is finally rewarded for his efforts, having Dhoni (10) caught by Maxwell at long-on.

Rahane has proceeded to complete 2,000 runs in ODIs. 

A massive six by Rohit, off Faulkner, helps India get past the 250-run mark, in the 43rd over. However, Rohit (124) is run out in the next ball. 

Rohit's 127-ball innings was inclusive of 11 hits to the fence and three over it, and he helped Rahane add 121 runs (off just 111 balls) for the third wicket.

So back to back centuries for Rohit Down Under. Taking nothing away from his efforts, spare a thought for the wickets at the WACA and Gabba. 

Not long back they happened to a bowler's paradise. Now they have become  bowler's nightmare. 

A couple off Faulkner helps Rahane complete his 14th ODI fifty, his first against Australia. The shot also helps raise the 100-run partnership for the third wicket.

Joel Paris is handed the ball again in the 31st over, replacing Hastings (6-0-30-0). He is unfortunate as Rohit (89) survives a caught behind appeal off his third ball. 

The snicko shows Rohit had nicked it. The umpire felt otherwise. Rohit gets a reprieve even as he closes in on another century.

Rohit's is now the highest score by an Indian opener at The Gabba, surprising the 91 made by Sachin Tendulkar in 2008. 

A boundary by Rahane, off Paris, helps raise the 50-run partnership for the third wicket. Another boundary by him helps India get past the 200-run mark, in the 37th over.

A single off  Paris helps Rohit complete his 10 ODI hundred, half of them having come against Australia.

Ajinkya Rahane is the new man in. Hastings replace an expensive Richardson (6-1-44-0) in the attack in the 25th over. A couple off him, by Rahane, helps India get past the 150-run mark, in the 27th over. 

Maxwell is back, replacing Boland (6-0-31-0) in the attack in the 28th over. Four off his over. 

After 30 overs, the visitors are well-placed at 166 for two.

Rohit ups the ante with two sixes in a Richardson over. 

Boland replaces Faulkner (3-0-16-0) in the 24th over. Kohli (59) is run out by a Richardson hit.

Kohli's 67-ball innings was inclusive of four hits to the fence and he helped Rohit add 125 runs (off just 129 balls) for the second wicket.

Faulkner has a change of ends, replacing Maxwell (3-0-18-0). Just two runs off it.

A single by Kohli, off Richardson, helps India get to the 100-run mark, in the 21st over. 

A boundary off Faulkner helps Kohli get to his 36th ODI fifty and also helps attain the 100-run partnership for the second wicket.

With the quicks failing to deliver, Steve Smith has handed the ball over to Glenn Maxwell, replacing Hastings (3-0-10-0) in the 14th over. 

Australia make another bowling change in the 17th over, James Faulkner replacing Boland (4-0-18-0). Eight runs come off his first over, with Rohit finding the fence. 

Richardson is back after the drinks break, replacing Faulkner (1-0-8-0).

A single off him helps Rohit get to his his 28th ODI fifty, his third against Australia.

Richardson's third over is an expensive one, 11 runs coming off it, with Rohit finding the fence twice. 

Kohli flirts with danger, and is fortunate for a second time, when Shaun Marsh puts him down at extra cover of Paris. 

Australia make their first bowling change in the eighth over, John Hastings replacing Richardson (3-1-19-0). Just three runs off his first over. 

It's a twin bowling change, with Scott Boland replacing Paris (4-0-19-1). Five off his over, with Rohit getting a streaky boundary.

A boundary by Rohit, off Boland, helps India get past the 50-run mark, in the 11th over. 

A single by Kohli, off Hastings, helps raise the 50-run partnership for the second wicket.

Kohli is fortunate as an edge off Paris lands short of Smith at first slip.

The first boundary of the Indian innings come in the first ball of Paris' second over, a wonderful cover drive by Dhawan. 

However, the bowler has his revenge in the next ball, having Dhawan (6) caught behind.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan to open the batting for India and it will be Joel Paris first up for Australia. Five runs come off the first over. 

Kane Richardson, in place of Josh Hazlewood, will bowl the second over. It's a maiden.

Good morning and welcome to the live coverage of the second ODI between Australia and India at The Gabba, Brisbane. 

India has won the toss and opted to bat first. 

"It looks like a good wicket and we are looking to put the runs on the board," reasons captain MS Dhoni. 

His opposite number, Steven Smith, is not too perturbed with the toss loss. 

India has made just one change, Ishant Sharma coming in while Australia have as many as three changes. 

The home team lead the five-match series 1-0.
