Pandey's 81-ball 104 not out, his first hundred, helps India prevent a 5-0 whitewash.
India win by six wickets, with two balls to spare.
Pandey, who hit eight boundaries and a six in his innings, added 94 runs (off 87 balls) for the fith wicket, a partnership which laid the foundation for the Indian win.
Australia win the series 4-1 though. In the final analysis that is what matters.

However, Lyon hands Dhoni (on 7) a lifeline, putting him down off Boland. These drops are going to cost Australia.
Boland ends with figures of none for 58. Faulkner replaces Lyon (8-0-58-0) in the 45th over. A single by Dhoni helps raise the 50-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
It is this stand that has turned the match in favor of India.

Boland is handed the ball again in the 38th over. He has four left and he needs to bowl well. Australia have only one over of Hastings left. Only four off the over.
Australia's best bowler, Hastings, will bowl out. A brave decision considering 11 overs are left to be bowled.
A boundary by Pandey in the over helps India get past the 250-run mark, in what is the 39th over. Hastings ends an impressive spell (10-1-61-3).
After 40 overs, the visitors have made 254 for three, that is 77 to get off the final 10 overs.

Again Hastings provides Australia the breakthrough against the run of play, a spectacular catch by Shaun Marsh cutting short Dhawan's (78) stay.
Dhawan's 56-ball innings was inclusive of seven hits to the fence, and three over it, and he helped Rohit add 123 runs (off 110 balls) for the opening wicket.

Yadav's sixth is another expensive over, 16 runs coming off it, with Marsh smashing a six over backward square leg and following it up with a boundary to point.

Warner and Smith combine well for the home team thereafter.
