India 148-1 (50 ovs) vs WI 196 | Scorecard

Rahul plays a rare loose shot as he looks to cut a short ball from Gabriel which bounces more than expected and is also closer to the body. Another short ball which moves in late after passing the batsman who does well to sway out of the way as wicketkeeper Dowrich does well to save it and concede just one bye.

Holder bowls a maiden over to Pujara, who is content to let the six balls of the over go through to the keeper. Pujara, who resumed on 18 from 57 balls, is yet to score a run in nearly 45 minutes of the session, having faced 21 deliveries so far in the first session.

An extended spell for Gabriel as he continues to bowl his fifth over of the day. The pacer has bowled quite well in the morning session and created a problem or two with his pace and bounce.

Meanwhile, Holder is content to bowl a steady line and length, sending down another maiden to Pujara.

India 140-1 (43 ovs) vs WI 196 | Scorecard

West Indies captain Jason Holder to bowl from the other end. He concentrates on keeping it full and just outside the off-stump, hoping to stick to a good line and length and force the batsmen into making a mistake. But Rahul is very watchful as he decides against playing at anything wide as Holder bowls a maiden over.

Gabriel bowls a short ball to Pujara which jags in sharply as wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich also can't adjust to the late swing as it goes past him for four byes.

West Indies pacers looking to maintain a good line and length and just stick to the basics. Pujara finally gives in to the temptation as he pokes at a wide delivery, only to get an edge which falls short of the fielder at second slip.

India 126-1 (37 ovs) vs WI 196 | Scorecard

Welcome to the coverage of Day 2 of the second Test match between West Indies and India in Jamaica, on Sunday.

India would be looking to consolidate their strong position from Day 1 and further extend their domination in the match.

After electing to bat, West Indies folded for a paltry 196 and also failed to make an impression with India scoring 126 for one in 37 overs.

Ravichandran Ashwin showed why he is ranked the No. 1 Test bowler in the world as he claimed five for 52 to send the West Indies crashing for a low total.

He has claimed successive five wicket hauls in the first and second Test, taking his career tally to 188 wickets in 34 Tests.

KL Rahul, who came in for the injured Murali Vijay, made most of the opportunity as he stroked a fluent 75 not out to give India a superb start.

They would be looking for a huge first innings total and ensure that they will not need to bat again in this match and push for another innings victory.

The light has stayed good so the umpires continue the match well beyond the extra 30 minutes to finish off the whole quota of overs for the opening day.

With two spinners in operation, even the two Indian batsmen are content to bat out in the middle and score a few ones and twos.

At stumps on Day, India were well placed on 126 for one in 37 overs, trailing West Indies by just 70 runs.

It was complete domination by the visitors as they bowled out West Indies for a paltry 196 thanks to Ashwin's five for 52.
