Afridi ends an ineffective spell (4-0-25-0) in the 15th over. The Pakistan spinners have failed to make any impact on a square turner. 

Irfan to bowl the 16th over. Kohli hits the second ball to the backward point boundary. Dhoni ends it with a six over long-on and a single. 

Kohli remains unbeaten on 55 (off 37 balls) as India win by six wickets to remain unbeaten against Pakistan in ICC events.

MS Dhoni has joined Kohli at the crease. The onus is on this duo to take India home.

The first six of the Indian innings comes from Kohli, off Malik over backward square-leg.

Another boundary by him in that over helps bring up the 50-run partnership for the fourth wicket. 

Yuvraj also helps himself to a six, off Wahab Riaz. However, the bowler has the last laugh, having Yuvraj (24) caught by Sami.

Yuvraj's 23-ball innings was inclusive of a boundary and a six, and he helped Kohli add 61 runs (off 44 balls) for the fourth wicket.

Pakistan make another bowling change in the ninth over, Shoaib Malik replacing Sami (2-0-17-2). India reach the 50-run mark in the over.

Pakistan make their first bowling change in the fifth over, Mohammad Sami replacing an impressive Amir (2-1-3-1). Dhawan welcomes him with a boundary past cover point. 

However, the bowler has the last laugh as Dhawan (6) plays on two balls later. Suresh Raina comes and goes, again playing onto his stumps.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma open the batting for India and it will be Mohammad Amir first up for Pakistan. Just three runs off the over.

Shoaib Malik top scores with 26, and hsi 41-run fourth wicket stand with Akmal (22) helped the Pakistan cause considerably.

Nehra to bowl the penultimate over. He strikes with his second ball, having Malik (26) caught by Ashwin at fine leg. 

Sarfaraz Ahmed is the new man in. Nehra ends with figures of one for 20.

Bumrah to bowl the final over. He gives away just seven runs.

India restrict Pakistan to just 118 for five. It is India's match to lose now.

Nehra is back to bowl the 13th over, replacing Jadeja (3-0-12-0). He gives away only a couple. 

In Pandya's second over, Malik hits the first six of the Pakistan innings over deep midwicket. Two balls later, Akmal hits a six over long-on.

Malik continues in assault in Bumrah's next over, with a couple of boundaries on either side. Anoundary boundary by him, off Jadeja, helps Pakistan to the 100-run mark, in the 16th over. 

However, Jadeja hits back, having Akmal (22) caught behind. Akmal's 16-ball innings was inclusive of a boundary and a six, and he helped Malik add 41 runs (in four overs) for the fourth wicket.

Hardik Pandya is handed the ball in the 12th over. Akmal welcomes him with a boundary to the cow corner. 

However, Pandya has the last laugh, having Afridi (8) caught by Kohli in the deep. 

A big wicket this for India. Afridi was hugely disappointing to say the least. Shoaib Malik replaces his captain at the crease.

Raina is taken off after the over, and Bumrah is back to bowl the 10th over. The decision works for India, Bumrah having Shahzad (25) caught by Jadeja running back from point. 

Umar Akmal is the new man in. He starts with a boundary, the shot helping Pakistan get past the 50-run mark. 

The visitors are 51 for one after 10 overs.

A brilliant catch by Hardik Pandya at mid-on cuts short Sharjeel's (17) stay at the crease. Pakistan 38 for one in the eighth over.

India make their first bowling change in the fifth over, Jasprit Bumrah replacing Nehra (2-0-8-0). Sharjeel hits the last ball through cover for his second boundary.

Bumrah (1-0-5-0) is taken off after one over, replaced by Ravindra Jadeja. Ahmed Shahzad gets a boundary as six runs come off the over. Pak 34 for no loss after seven overs.

Good evening and welcome to the coverage of the much awaited game between India and Pakistan at the Eden Gardens. 

The news is that India has won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first.

"The wicket has been under the covers for some time and bowling first gives us some time to assess the conditions," reasons captain MS Dhoni, adding there are no changes to the squad that lost to New Zealand in Nagpur.

Shahid Afridi, his opposition number, agreed. 

"Bowling first is a good call. Now we will look to put up a decent total," he said.
