Samson makes most of the free hit as he smashes it past long-off for a four as the flow of runs continues despite the openers falling in quick succession.

Duminy looking to finish off things early. He reverse sweeps Kaushik for a four and then drives the next through the covers for back to back boundaries as 12 come from the over.

Samson slog sweeps Jadeja as McCullum comes up with an unbelievable stop at deep midwicket to save a certain six. But the next ball is hit high over the same region and it carries comfortably over the ropes for a six.

Delhi race to 150 for two in 17.2 overs, to win by eight wickets with 16 balls remaining.

Delhi 118-1 (14 ovs) vs Gujarat 149-7

De Kock seems to have gloved a short ball as he tried to play the pull shot but wicketkeeper Karthik is unable to take it as bowler Smith looks visibly disappointed.

De Kock frustrates him further as he lofts the next delivery over the mid-off fielder for a four to continue the flow of runs.

Ravindra Jadeja comes into the attack, to bowl the 14th over. And he strikes in his very first over as Pant is caught off an inside edge trying to play the sweep.

The youngster walks back after a splendid innings of 69 from 40 balls, having hit nine fours and two sixes, after he had put on 115 runs from 81 balls for the opening wicket.

Medium pacer Dwayne Smith comes into the attack. He bowls a good over first up, conceding just three singles as Delhi look content to just take it easy.

Surprisingly, Jadeja has still not been called into the attack. And Gujarat introduce their sixth bowler as left-arm pacer James Faulkner comes into the attack.

Despite Gujarat needing a wicket to pull back things, Raina continues, bowling his third over on the trot, ahead of his specialist bowlers like Faulkner, Jadeja and Kaushik.

Raina comes up with a superb over and is unlucky not to get the wicket of de Kock (30) as wicketkeeper Karthik misses an easy stumping.

Left-arm chinaman Shivil Kaushik comes into the attack. Pant looks to reverse the first ball but gets a glove which goes past the wicketkeeper for a four.

De Kock also attempts the shot later in the over but can't beat the fielder inside the circle, however, they still get a single courtesy of an overthrow as six come from Kaushik's first over.

Raina will bowl out here as he continues to bowl his fourth over on the trot. Pant smashes the second ball straight down the ground for a four. The next ball is short as the left-hander rocks back and pulls it through midwicket for another boundary to race to 44 from 23 balls.

Gujarat captain Suresh Raina brings himself into the attack early, to bowl the third over of the innings.

With two left-handers out in the middle, Raina decides to have an off-spinner in action rather than the pacers, who went for runs in the first two overs.

Both de Kock and Pant milk Raina for seven runs in his first over.

Change of ends for Praveen but no stopping Delhi's charge. De Kock picks a full delivery off his pads over the square leg fence for a six but misses the shot off the next ball and gets a wide.

The youngster makes it three in a row as he punches a short ball into the ground as it bounces over the off-side for a hat-trick of boundaries.

A good over for Gujarat as Zaheer concedes 13 in his final over to finish with good figures of one for 17 in four overs.

19:24   IPL: Gujarat hope to end home campaign on a high against Delhi

Welcome to the coverage of 31st match of the Indian Premier League between Gujarat Lions and Delhi Daredevils in Rajkot, on Tuesday.

The shocking loss to Kings XI Punjab in their last match, notwithstanding, table-toppers Gujarat Lions will have to get their act together quickly if they wish to end their home campaign on a winning note against a formidable Delhi Daredevils.

Gujarat Lions' three-match winning streak came to an end on Sunday when they lost to Kings XI by 23 runs. But despite the loss, Gujarat Lions continue to enjoy the top spot in the table with 12 points from eight games.

The ever-improving Daredevils are not far behind in third place with eight points from six games.

Gujarat Lions batting so far has revolved around explosive openers Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith. When the duo clicked, the Lions have managed to achieve scores around 200.

Both McCullum and Smith had a rare off-day on Sunday and the duo would be hoping to return among runs come Tuesday.

Skipper Suresh Raina and Dinesh Karthik have made useful contributions, but their main worry would be the batting form of two all-rounders Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja.

Bravo and Jadeja have been handy for Raina with the ball but it is their performance with the bat which is a matter of concern.

Bravo has so far taken 10 wickets in eight matches, but contributed just 52 runs with the bat, while Jadeja has picked up five wickets from seven games and scored only 53 runs.

The Daredevils, on the other hand, would be hoping to settle scores after losing by a narrow one run against Gujarat Lions at home.

Mentored by Rahul Dravid and led by veteran Zaheer Khan, IPL 9 has seen a transformed Daredevils side. They have so far won four out of their six games, losing just against Gujarat Lions and Kolkata Knight Riders.
