Watson finally takes out Vijay (89), having him caught by Chahal at square leg, after the Punjab captain helped Stoinis add 51 runs for the fourth wicket. 

Farhaan Behardien, playing in his first match, is the new man in. Jordan to bowl the last over. 

Punjab need 17 runs. Stoinis hits the second ball to the fence, and the third over long-off for a six. 

Two runs come off the fifth ball. Punjab need four off the last ball. They get two. 

Bangalore win by one run. Jordan has managed to keep his nerve. Stoinis remains unbeaten on 34.

A boundary by Vijay, off Jordan, helps Punjab get past the 100-run mark, in the 13th over. 

Vijay has now scored his best score of the season. He celebrates the same with successive boundaries off Abdulla. 

With five to go, Punjab require another 53 runs to win.

At the halfway stage Punjab are well-placed at 83 for one. 

Chahal to bowl the 11th over, his third. He strikes in his last two balls, having both Saha (16) and David Miller (0) stumped. 

Miller's already terrible season gets even worse. 

Marcus Stoinis joins his captain at the crease. Vijay reaches his fifty with a single off Watson.

Wriddiman Saha has joined his captain at the crease. He starts off with a boundary off Varun Aaron. 

Iqbal Abdulla is introduced in the eighth over. He gives away eight runs first up. 

In Aaron's second over Vijay helps himself to a six on the leg side.

Amla in lucky to survive a run out attempt. 

Shane Watson into the attack in the sixth over, replacing Binny (2-0-16-0). And Amla (21) doesn't survive him, Watson having him caught by Binny at midwicket. 

Amla's 20-ball innings included a couple of boundaries, and he helped his captain add 45 runs (off 33 balls) for the opening wicket. 

Punjab manage 50 for one in the powerplay phase. Time for the first timeout.

Hashim Amla and Murali Vijay to open the batting for Punjab and it will be Stuart Binny first up for RCB. Five come off the first over. 

Yuzvendra Chahal to bowl the second over. He gives away six runs. 

A bowling change in the third over, Chris Jordan to bowl. It's an expensive over, 13 coming off it, with Vijay finding the fence twice.

Head (11) is caught by Vijay off Sandeep and Baby (33) is run out off the last ball as RCB are restricted to 175 fr six. 

Still a good score if one considers their start. But is it good enough?

21:32   IPL Updates! AB out for 64 as Punjab regain control

Successive boundaries off Mohit Sharma helps AB complete a well deserved fifty. 

He celebrates the same with a six over backward square leg, followed by a boudary left of long-off, off Sandeep Sharma. 

However, Sandeep has the last laugh, having AB (64) caught by Cariappa at short third man. 

AB's 35-ball innings was inclusive of five hits to the fence and two over it, and he helped Baby add 88 runs (off 55 balls) for the fourth wicket.

A single by Baby, off Cariappa, helps RCB get to the 100-run mark, in the 14th over. 

AB and Baby are putting together an almost run-a-ball stand, and that stands RCB in good stead. 

Baby has started cutting loose though. RCB 113 for three after 15 overs. Time for the second strategic timeout.
20:47   IPL Updates! Spinners put Punjab in command at Mohali

Bangalore: 73-3

AB de Villiers and Shane Watson are the two new batsmen at the crease. 

It gets worse as Axar, replacing Stoinis (2-0-25-0) in the ninth over, strikes with his fourth ball, cleaning up Watson (1).

Sachin Baby is the new man in. 

At the halfway mark RCB are in a spot of bother at 73 for three. It's RCB's lowest total at the fall of the third wicket. A lot depends on AB.

This is the second most productive powerplay for the RCB. With Gayle out of sorts they have been struggling of late. 

KC Cariappa is introduced into the attack in the eighth over, replacing Axar (1-0-7-0). He strikes twice in his opening over. 

In his third ball he gets past Rahul's (42) defense and two balls later, has Kohli (20) caught by his counterpart Vijay.

RCB make a bright start. 

Virat Kohli and Lokesh Rahul put together a good opening partnership. 

A whopping 20 runs come off the fourth over, by Stoinis, with Rahul helping himself to three boundaries and a six. 

Another boundary by Rahul, off Axar, helps RCB get past the 50-run mark, in the sixth over. 

RCB reach 56 without loss in the powerplay.

Good evening and welcome to the coverage of the Indian Premier League match between Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Mohali. 

News is the home team has won the toss and put the opposition in. 

"Just wanted to chase the target," reasons captain Murali Vijay. Virat Kohli, his opposite number, is unperturbed by the toss loss, saying defending totals wold be easier at this venue.
