So, India take the lead in this five-match ODI series. Virat Kohli scores another half century (his 37th) in 50-over cricket and remains unbeaten on 85 runs to take India home.
NZ have only themselves to blame after they failed to post a challenging target. Pandya and Mishra had claimed three wickets each for the home side.
This was also India's 900th ODI game.

After the whitewash in Tests, the focus now shifts to white-ball cricket as India face New Zealand in the first of five-match ODI series in Dharamsala.
The spotlight will be on Mahendra Singh Dhoni as he plays his first game after his much acclaimed biopic was released.
Dhoni will be looking to match Test skipper Virat Kohli's superb performance
Allrounder Hardik Pandya will be making his ODI debut as he received his maiden cap from Kapil Dev.
