India aim to stretch lead, NZ eye quick wkts on Day 4

Welcome to the coverage of Day 4 of the first Test between India and New Zealand in Kanpur, on Sunday.

India dominated the third day to finish on 159 for one at stumps, extending their overall lead to 215 runs with nine wickets in hand.

Vijay stroked an unbeaten 64 from 152 balls, while Pujara stroked his way to 50 from 80 balls with the duo having added 107 runs for the second wicket so far.

New Zealand failed to take a wicket in the post-tea session as India scored at a good rate to amass 107 runs in 28.5 overs.

India will look to continue getting the runs and declare somewhere towards the close of the second session, giving them four sessions to bowl out New Zealand.

Meanwhile, the visitors would be looking to claim a few early wickets on Day 4 and bring themselves back into the contest.
