Dhoni 'The Finisher' is back! He smashes a quickfire 61 from 34 balls, hitting a boundary off the last ball to guide his team to a thrilling six-wicket victory.

Tiwary played a good hand with 17 from eight balls as the two batsmen put on an unbroken stand of 58 runs from 23 balls for the fifth wicket as Pune staged a late assault to steal victory.

Dhoni held his nerves quite well in the final few overs to bounce back in some style after a difficult start to IPL 10.

Interestingly, Sunrisers hit 63 from the final five overs, while Pune responded with 64 from their last five overs to clinch their second straight win.

Kaul to bowl the final over. Tiwary swings it on the leg side but Rashid at deep midwicket puts down a straightforward chance and also ends up conceding a boundary.

Tiwary picks a single off the next to bring Dhoni back on strike, with six needed from four balls.

Kaul does well to bowl a good yorker from round the wicket on the pads to Dhoni who flicks it to fine leg for one.

Kaul bowls a full toss which Tiwary flicks to deep square leg for one to bring Dhoni back on strike.

Dhoni swings Kaul to deep midwicket where Warner does well to release the ball quickly but can't stop the second run.

That leaves Pune with two to get from the final ball for victory and the man on strike is one of the best finishers the sport has seen -- MS Dhoni.

Dhoni smashes the last ball through the covers for a four to take his team to victory.

Bhuvneshwar starts his final over with a wide as he looks to keep it full and away from Dhoni.

The next ball is a yorker but Dhoni manages to flick it behind square on the leg side for a four.

Dhoni, the finisher, getting back his form. Bhuvneshwar overpitches and also gives a bit of width as Dhoni flays it over point for a four.

No stopping Dhoni as he lofts Bhuvi straight back over long-on for a six to race to his fifty from 29 balls.

Dhoni has single-handedly turned the game on it's head, hitting 26 runs from the last seven balls he has faced, with three fours and two sixes.

A single each to the two batsmen before Dhoni drives the last ball down the ground and comes back for two runs.

For once, Bhuvneshwar has failed to deliver at the death, giving away 19 runs in his final over, leaving 11 runs from the last over for victory.

Dhoni gets a lifeline as he hits a low full to mid-off where the fielder does well to get low but can't hold on.

Tiwary walks across his stumps and flicks it behind square on the leg side for a four but can't point with the next shot as he gets just one.

Siraj makes the mistake of bowling a length ball to Dhoni, who clubs it over long-on for a six. The next ball is short and wide and Dhoni helps it over point for a four before he keeps strike with a single from the last ball.
19:13   Stokes falls for 10, Pune need 47 from 3 overs

With two overs left in his spell, Bhuvneshwar comes back to bowl the 17th over and 19th overs. He strikes with the first delivery of his new spell with the wicket of Stokes, who heaves it on the leg side but is caught at deep midwicket for 10.

Dhoni flicks Bhuvneshwar through the leg side as Hooda slides near the ropes and does well to stop it. The umpires want to check if shoes brushed the ropes as they consult the television umpire, who gives the benefit of the doubt to the fielder.

Dhoni lofts Bhuvi over midwicket but the fielder is perfectly placed in the deep keeping the batsman down to a single.

Manoj Tiwary gets the last ball for a crucial boundary over midwicket to bring the equation down to 47 from three overs for victory.

Dhoni finally gets the big hit, smashing pacer Kaul down the ground for a six. Ben Stokes hits the last ball over the off-side to get 14 runs from the over and keep Pune in touch with the asking rate.

Siraj to bowl the 16th over. Two singles from the first two balls before Dhoni steers it past point for a couple and then picks a single. Stokes flicks the last ball on the leg side for another run as Siraj gives away just six runs in the over.

Pune are 121 for three in 16 overs, with another 56 needed from four overs for victory.

18:53   Tripathi run out for 59, Pune in trouble

Rashid breaks the partnership with the wicket of Smith, who gets an inside edge and is bowled for 27.

He put on 72 runs for the second wicket with Tripathi to rally Pune after an early wicket.

A good over from Rashid, giving away just four runs and claiming the key wicket of Smith.

Medium pacer Henriques comes into the attack. Dhoni plays a couple of dot balls before he gets off the mark with a single and Tripathi also picks one as four come from the over.

Siraj comes back for his second spell after being hit for 13 runs in his first over. He starts with a loose delivery, short and wide, as Dhoni cuts it past point for a four but he makes a good comeback, giving away just three from the rest of the over.

Rashid's brilliance in the field gets Sunrisers the big wicket of Tripathi. Dhoni comes down and is hit on the pads as he looks for a quick leg bye but Rashid does well on his follow through to gather it and get a direct hit at the batting end to run out Tripathi.

The youngster walks back after a disappointing innings of 59 from 41 balls, having hit six fours and three sixes.

Pune are 101 for three in 14 overs, needing 76 from six overs for victory.
18:33   Tripathi, Smith steady Pune after early wicket


Pune 83-1 (10 ovs) vs Sunrisers 176-3 | Scorecard

Sunrisers are desperate for a wicket and break this stand and not surprising they introduce leg-spinner Rashid Khan, who has a habit of striking in his first over.

Pune's batsmen not willing to take any chances against Rashid as they quietly pick three singles from his first over.

Bipul also bowls a tight over, giving away three runs as Pune reach 61 for one in eight overs.

Pune's run rate has taken a sharp dip as the spinners look to build up some pressure in the middle overs. Tripathi takes a single off Rashid to bring up his fifty from 32 balls, in the ninth over.

Smith is beaten as he looks to flick it across the line on the leg side but is foxed by the googly.

Tripathi gets the first boundary after three over as he pulls Rashid through midwicket for a four.

In the next over, Smith goes after Bipul, sweeping the spinner over midwicket for back to back to sixes.

Pune are looking in control on 83 for one in 10 overs with Tripathi on 55 from 35 balls and Smith on 25 from 18 balls. They need another 94 runs from 10 overs for victory.

18:17   Tripathi's attack gives Pune a flying start

Tripathi, on 17, gets a lifeline as he top edges trying to pull new bowler Mohammed Siraj but Bipul at short fine leg puts down a high catch as he is unable to judge it cleanly.

The next ball is short and Tripathi pulls it powerfully over square leg for a six to rub some salt into the bowler's wounds, who would be reeling from the drop off the previous delivery.

Tripathi continues his dashing start as he smashes the next ball through point for a four before he keeps strike with a single from the last ball.

Pacer Siddharth Kaul comes into the attack. No stopping Tripathi as he comes down and lofts it straight back over the bowler's head for a six.

He comes down the track as he lofts it over the covers for a four and crashes the last ball of the over for another six to get 18 from Kaul's first over.

Tripathi has raced to 47 from 26 balls to take Pune to 55 for one in six overs, with 31 coming from the last two overs.
18:05   Rahane dismissed for 2, Pune lose early wicket

The in-form Bhuvneshwar Kumar to open the bowling for Sunrisers, who will be looking for a couple of early wickets. Having fielded an inexperienced bowling line-up in this match, Sunrisers need Bhuvneshwar to shoulder the burden of the bowling.

Ajinkya Rahane and Rahul Tripathi take the sensible approach as they take just one run from the first run, with the former taking a single from the fourth ball.

Spin from the other end as left-armer Bipul Sharma comes into the bowl the second over. He also makes a tidy start, conceding just four runs in his second over.

After a couple of quiet overs, Tripathi decides to cut loose and goes after Bhuvneshwar. He comes down the track, makes room before he smashes Bhuvi through the covers for the first four of Pune's innings and two balls later manages to steer it fine on the off-side for another boundary.

He comes down and has another wild swing but this time he is unable to make a connection. Tripathi gets the fifth ball fine on the leg side for a couple as 10 come from the over.

Rahane has struggled to get going. He looks to attack Bipul but is beaten in the flight and ends up spooning a simple catch to the fielder at mid-on to be dismissed for two.

Tripathi sweeps the next ball behind square on the leg side for a four and two balls later picks a single.

New batsman Steve Smith takes no time to get going. He defends the first ball he faces before lofting Bipul back over his head for a four to get off the mark in style.

17:33   Henriques blasts half-century to power Sunrisers to 176


Sunrisers 176-3 (20 ovs) vs Pune | Scorecard

Hooda attempts a big swing off Thakur but gets a thick outside edge which flies past Dhoni for a four.

Two balls later, Henriques blasts a short wide ball through point for a four to continue getting the boundaries for Sunrisers.

Unadkat suffers in his final over. Hooda smokes the second ball high over long-on for a huge six and two balls later Henriques blasts it over midwicket for the same result as the pacer gives away 15 in the 19th over.

Thakur to bowl the final over. Henriques takes a single from the first ball before Hooda ramps the slower bouncer over the keeper's head for a four. Two balls later, Henriques smashes one through the covers for a four to race to his fifty from just 26 balls and then hits the ball square for another boundary.

Thakur gets it right off the last ball, bowling the perfect yorker as Henriques can only defend it on the leg side for one.

Henriques finishes unbeaten on a superb innings of 56 from 29 balls, while Hooda has 19 from 10 balls as Hyderabad post a healthy 176 for three in their 20 overs.

The visitors managed to lift the tempo towards as they smashed 63 runs from the last five overs with Henriques leading the charge with his power hitting in the last few overs.
17:20   Warner out for 43, Sunrisers lose 3rd wicket


Sunrisers 134-3 (17 ovs) vs Pune | Scorecard

With boundaries not coming freely, Warner and Henriques doing well to keep the scoreboard with ones and twos. Henriques risks the second run against Stokes who charges in from the deep and sends a good throw to Dhoni but the batsman has made his ground.

Warner comes down and manages to chop it over point for a four to take his score into the 40s. Nine runs from Christian's final over, who finishes with good figures of one for 20 in four overs.

Unadkar comes back as Henriques swings the first ball over midwicket for a six and then takes a single.

Warner switches his stances as he looks to flick it over the short thirdman fielder but misses and is bowled round his leg as he ends up trying to flick in the right-hander's position.

A laboured innings from the Sunrisers captain as he is dismissed for 43 from 40 balls.

Henriques ends the over with a boundary through point to race to 32 from 18 balls.

Sunrisers 113-2 (15 ovs) vs Pune | Scorecard

Williamson clips Christian on the leg side for a couple and then does it again off the next two balls to collect couple of runs both times. Two singles from the last two balls take Sunrisers to 65 for one in 10 overs with Warner on 23 from 24 balls and Williamson on eight.

Williamson pre-medidates the sweep against Tahir as he misses out on a full toss, going into the sweep early for a single to fine leg.

Stokes comes back and is unlucky to miss out a wicket off the first ball. Warner (26 from 27 balls) hits one straight to Steve Smith at mid-off who puts down a simple catch to leave everyone in shock in Pune. Even Smith can't believe that he has put down such an easy catch.

Two balls later, Williamson pulls a short ball over the fine leg fence for a six, the first of the innings in the 12th over.

Three balls later he pulls it square for a four as Stokes concedes 13 runs in the overs as Sunrisers reach 83 for one in 12 overs.

Christian strikes with the key wicket of Williamson, who is deceived by the slower ball and trapped leg before wicket for a quickfire 21 from 14 balls.

Moises Henriques gets off the mark with a single as Christian bowls a superb over, conceding just two runs while taking the key wicket of Williamson. He has good figures of one for 12 in three overs so far.

Thakur comes back as Henriques flicks him wide of mid-on for a couple and then pulls a short ball over midwicket for a four. The next ball is full as Henriques comes down and punches it straight, beating the fielder at mid-off for another four. He looks to pull the next ball but gets an inside edge for a single as 11 come from the over.

Warner cuts loose as he plays the switch hit, despatching a high full from Tahir over the off-side for a six. That is called a no-ball for height but Warner can only get a single from the free hit delivery.

Henriques gets an inside edge square on the leg side and comes back for two runs before he picks one. Warner gets two from the last ball as Tahir goes for 16 runs in his third over.




16:41   Tahir dismisses Dhawan for 30, Sunrisers lose 1st wkt


Sunrisers 57-1 (9 ovs) vs Pune | Scorecard

Sundar comes back as Dhawan and Warner pick a single before the former comes down and lofts the off-spinner back over his head for a four.

Medium pacer Dan Christian comes into the attack. He makes a tidy start, giving away just two runs in his first over as Pune look to build up the pressure with some tight overs in the middle.

Leg-spinner Imran Tahir comes into the attack and strikes with his very first delivery. He starts with a short ball which Dhawan hits straight into the hands of the fielder at deep midwicket to depart for 30.

He nearly picks another with the next ball as Warner is beaten by the googly as he looks to hit it through the off-side before he picks a quick single. New batsman Kane Williamson takes one from the last ball to get off the mark.

Four singles from five balls before Dhawan pulls Sundar through the leg side to make it eight runs from the over.

Warner struggling to get going at the start of the innings. He looks to force Ben Stokes through the off-side but gets an inside edge on the leg side for one. The next ball is a bit wide as Dhawan hits it through point for a four before he picks a single.

Two good overs from Sundar before he makes way for pacer Shardul Thakur. Dhawan picks a single before Warner hits the third delivery through the cover for two runs. Thakur pitches one right up as Warner hits it down the ground past mid-on for a four and two balls later punches a wide delivery through the covers for another boundary as Sunrisers reach 45 for no loss in six overs.

Left-arm seamer Jaidev Unadkat to open the bowling for Pune. David Warner gets off the mark with a single from the first ball, on the leg side. Shikhar Dhawan plays two dot balls before he crashes it straight down the ground for a four to get off the mark in some style followed by two singles.

Debutant off-spinner Washington Sundar to share the new ball. Warner sweeps the second ball for a single before Dhawan gets a leg bye followed by two wides from the youngster and Warner gets another leg bye.

In the next over, Dhawan pulls a short ball from Unadkat for a four as Sunrisers reach 20 for no loss in three overs.

Welcome to the coverage of the 24th match of the Indian Premier League between Rising Pune Supergiant and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Pune on Saturday.

We have two Australians -- Steven Smith and David Warner -- out in the middle for the toss.

Pune captain Smith has won the toss and elected to bowl. The hosts make change with Tamil Nadu all-rounder Washington Sundar makes his IPL debut as he replaces Rahul Chahar.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers have been dealt a big blow as Yuvraj Singh misses out because of illness as he makes way for Bipul Sharma.
