Mumbai 94-4 (13 ovs) vs Pune 160-6 | Scorecard

Leg-spinner Imran Tahir comes into the attack, to bowl the 10th over.

Interestingly, Mumbai have promoted Karn Sharma to No. 5 ahead of Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya.

Rohit steers the first ball from Tahir past the slip fielder for a four and then two balls later hit it over midwicket for another boundary.

Tahir has a huge appeal for LBW turned down with Rohit struck just outside the line of off-stump. That was very close!

Mumbai are 68 for three in 10 overs, with 93 needed from 60 balls for victory.

With the asking rate going up steeply in the last few overs, Rohit takes a risk as he paddles Unadkat fine on the leg side for a four.

In the next over, Karn gets a lifeline as Tiwary puts down a simple catch at covers off Tahir. Tiwary is rated highly as a fielder and that drop would surely hit especially after watching Karn loft the next ball for a six over long-on.

Stokes comes back and immediately strikes with the wicket of Karn for 11. The left-hander goes for another big hit but only manages an inside edge which goes back on to his stumps.

Stokes has taken two wickets in the space of seven deliveries without conceding a run to reduce Mumbai to 86 for four, in the 13th over.

Bumrah comes back well with a wide yorker before he traps Tiwary leg before wicket with a full delivery. Tiwary, who made 22 from 13 balls, looks to hit it across the line on the leg side but misses and is given out leg before wicket. Infact, the ball might have slipped down the leg side.

The young Washington Sundar chips Bumrah over midwicket for two runs to get off the mark before he looks to paddle the last ball fine but misses.

It has been a good comeback by the Mumbai bowlers to limit Pune to 160 for six in their 20 overs.

Pune looked good for a total around the 180-run mark after a good start from their openers, who put on 76 runs for the first wicket.

Rahane hit a fluent 38 from 32 balls, while Tripathi stroked 45 from 31 balls but their dismissals saw Pune struggle to get going in the middle overs.

Smith, Dhoni and Stokes all perished cheaply before Tiwary hit a quickfire 22 from 13 balls to take Pune past the 150-run mark.

Harbhajan bowled Smith for 17 to complete his 200 wickets in the IPL, while Karn Sharma and Bumrah picked up two wickets each.

Johnson cripples Pune with the key wicket of Stokes, who is bowled 17. The left-hander looks to it a full delivery over the leg side but plays all over and ends up missing it completely.

The in-form Manoj Tiwary gets off the mark with a lofted drive through the covers which falls just short of Hardik Pandya at mid-off who does well to dive forward and attempt the low catch but fails to stop it. The next ball is short and Tiwary pulls it square for another boundary to make a smashing start to his innings. He steers the fifth ball of the over wide of thirdman for two runs and keeps strike with one from the last ball.

21:11

Pune 120-3 (15 ovs) vs Mumbai | Scorecard

He turns Johnson off his hips on the leg side before Ben Stokes glances a full delivery fine on the leg side for a four to get off the mark from the first ball he faces.

Bumrah comes back as Dhoni takes a single before Stokes drives it straight down the ground for two runs to long-on. He turns the next ball on the leg side for another couple before he looks for a big shot over the off-side but gets a thick edge for another two runs followed by two singles.

And not surprising the Mumbai crowd start chanting 'Dhoni, Dhoni' at the fall of that wicket as they give the Pune batsman a huge cheer as he makes his way out to the middle.

Karn is unlucky not to get another wicket as Steve Smith (8) is dropped by Harbhajan at fine leg as he plays the uppish sweep shot. He immediately smashes the next delivery through midwicket for a four and keeps strike with one from the last ball to take Pune to 100 for two in 12 overs.

Tripathi gives Harbhajan the charge but gets the leading edge for a single to the thirdman and the off-spinner is not happy that the youngster gave him the charge.

McClenaghan comes back for his second spell and suffers at the hand of Tripathi, who hits him for consecutive boundaries through the off-side.

19:29   High-flying Mumbai take on Pune
Welcome to the coverage of the 28th match of the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiant in Mumbai on Monday.

On a roll after a six-game winning streak, high-flying Mumbai Indians will take on a resurgent Rising Pune Supergiant, their only conquerors in this year's IPL.

Pune's last-ball, six-wicket victory on Saturday at home against defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad was followed just over a 100km away at the Wankhede Stadium by Mumbai's stout defence of a small total on a bouncy pitch against the misfiring Delhi Daredevils.

Table toppers Mumbai, thus, are in a perfect state of mind to seek revenge for their first leg loss to their Maharashtra rivals in their opening game in Pune, their only defeat in this season so far.

That the Pune victory over Hyderabad was piloted by none other than the iconic Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who smashed an unbeaten 61 not out in 34 balls to steer the side home in the last ball, will not be lost on the Mumbai think-tank.

The timely return to form by the talismanic former Indian captain, along with Pune captain Steve Smith's strong show so far in the tournament, makes this duo formidable rivals for the Mumbai bowlers who showed great skills in defending a small total of 142 against Delhi.

It was a rare, forgettable outing with the bat for Mumbai against Delhi and they must pull up their socks to confront the threat posed by the Pune bowling attack on Monday.

Particularly interesting will be the battle between Pune's South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir and Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma who once again fell to a wrist spinner against Delhi, playing across.

Tahir had his number in the first leg clash in Pune and will be confident of causing the Mumbai captain's downfall on a track that offered excellent bounce and turn on Saturday.

Mumbai's major plus has been the depth in their batting and variety in bowling, as not many other teams are blessed with such a combination in the league.
