19:26   RCB humiliated by Pune as batsmen flop again

RCB 96-9 (20 ovs) vs Pune 157-3 | Scorecard

Ferguson comes back as he concedes just two singles in his fourth and final over. Interestingly, Smith even had two slips in place for the fast bowler in that over, who finishes with splendid figures of two for seven in four overs.

RCB finishing on a disappointing 96 for nine in their 20 overs to lose by a big margin of 61 runs.

Another flop show by the RCB batting line-up who didn't even manage to cross the 100-run mark with Kohli the only batsmen to score in double digits.

Tahir registered the best figures with three for 18, while Ferguson claimed two for seven and Unadkat, Christian and Washington picked up a wicket each.

RCB are nearly out of the running for a place in the play-off as they suffer their seventh loss in 10 games.

Meanwhile, Pune are firmly in the run for a place in the play-offs, having registered their fifth win in nine games.
19:14   Kohli falls for 55, RCB set for another big defeat

RCB 86-9 (18 ovs) vs Pune 157-3 | Scorecard

The match is as good as over with Kohli not able to find the boundaries against Christian and turns down the singles off the first three balls off the pacer.

He lofts the next ball on the leg side but Tiwary at deep midwicket puts down a simple catch and is struck on the knee as he fails to judge it cleanly.

Kohli is foxed by the slower ball as he goes for another big hit but only manages to spoon a high catch and is caught at long-off. The RCB captain walks back a disappointed man, having made 55 from 48 balls, but with his team on the verge of another humiliating defeat following a shocking batting collapse.
19:09   Kohli hits 42-ball fifty but RCB set for another loss

RCB 82-8 (17 ovs) vs Pune 157-3 | Scorecard

Kohli pulls Unadkat to deep midwicket for another single before Samuel Badree is beaten by a slower ball. He is unable to get off strike with Unadkat doing well to keep Kohli away from the strike.

He has a huge swing off the last ball but gets a thick outside and surprisingly Kohli takes the single to thirdman which denies him the strike for the next over.

Even with Kohli out in the middle, Pune will feel the match is firmly in their grasp, with RCB needing 84 runs from four overs for victory.

Tahir to bowl the 17th over. Badree picks a single from the first ball before Kohli comes down but is forced to defend on the leg side and then turns down the single.

Tahir drops it short and Kohli finally gets a boundary as he pulls it over midwicket for a six to bring up his fifty from just 42 balls.

He swings the next ball again but this time he gets only a single to deep midwicket.

Tahir wins the battle of the leg-spinners as he deceives Badree with the googly to bowl him for two.

Tahir finishes with splendid figures of three for 18 in four overs.

19:00   RCB lose 7th wicket, Pune in control

RCB 71-7 (15 ovs) vs Pune 157-3 | Scorecard

It will be interesting to see Kohli's approach but the Pune bowlers are doing well to keep him under check.

Unadkat comes back and mixes his pace quite well and does well to give away just five runs, without conceding a boundary.

The asking rate has crossed the 15 mark but Kohli still not going on the attack. He pulls a short ball from Tahir but fails to make proper connection as Smith misfields at midwicket to give away a run. Milne paddles the second ball fine on the leg side for one before he is beaten by the next and then picks a single.

Kohli content to take the singles as he drives Tahir down the long-on for before Milne is dismissed off the last ball.

He looks to whip it through the leg side but only manages to hit the googly straight into the hands of Smith at short midwicket as RCB slip to 71 for seven after 15 overs.
18:51   RCB 6 down, Pune in control

RCB 61-6 (13 ovs) vs Pune 157-3 | Scorecard

Kohli left too much to do as wickets keep falling from the other end. Off-spinner Washington bowls another tight over, giving away just four runs, to ramp up the pressure on RCB.

RCB have lost four wickets for 16 runs in 33 deliveries to be reduced to 53 for five in 11 overs. They need another 105 runs from nine overs for victory at an asking rate of more than 11.

Pawan Negi also doesn't last long. He goes after Tahir but only manages to hole out to the fielder at long-off to perish for three.

It has been another horror showing with the bat by RCB as they slip to 61 for six in 13 overs, needing 97 from seven overs for victory.

Kohli, who is batting on 40 from 33 balls, will have to pull off something magical to take RCB to victory from this current mess.

18:41   RCB 5 down, Pune in control

RCB 49-5 (10 ovs) vs Pune 157-3 | Scorecard

Off-spinner Washington Sundar strikes back in his very first over. Left-hander Sachin Baby flicks it uppishly off his pads but captain Smith does well to take a low catch diving forward. The catch is referred to the television umpire after Smith says he is not sure of whether he took it cleanly.

Baby walks back for two as RCB slip further, to 47 for four in the ninth over.

Washington makes the perfect start with the ball, giving away just two runs and starts off with a wicket.

Pune's wicket ways continue as Ferguson strikes with the wicket of Binny, who top edges the pull shot and is caught at fine leg for one.

Ferguson has wonderful figures of two for five in three overs as RCB slip to 49 for five in 10 overs, needing another 109 from 60 balls for victory.

RCB's hopes rest big time on captain Kohli, who is batting on 31 from 23 balls.

18:26   Jadhav run out for 7 as RCB's batting woes continue

RCB 45-3 (8 ovs) vs Pune 157-3 | Scorecard

Medium pacer Dan Christian comes into the attack. Kohli has a close have as he looks for a quick single on the off-side but is sent back halfway down the pitch and has to dive to make his crease. He doesn't look that pleased with Kedar Jadhav, who turned down the call for the quick single.

Kohli picks a single on the leg side before Jadhav pulls a short ball over midwicket for a four and takes a single from the last ball of the over as RCB reach 39 for two in six overs.

Leg-spinner Imran Tahir comes into the attack. He makes a tidy start, giving away just four singles in his first over.

RCB suffer another big blow as Jadhav is run out after a huge misunderstanding with captain Kohli as they look to steal a run off a misfield. Initially, Kohli is sent back by the striker Jadhav as the fielder at point has a shy at the stumps but the bowler fails to collect it cleanly. The two batsmen decide to take a run off the overthrow as Kohli calls Jadhav for the run, who comes down the long way before the RCB captain changes his mind.

Jadhav walks back for seven to leave RCB in further strife on 45 for three in eight overs with Kohli unbeaten on 30 from 21 balls.

What a start from Ferguson, just five runs in two overs, while picking up the wicket of AB de Villiers.
18:12   AB de Villiers fails with the bat, RCB in trouble

RCB 33-2 (5 ovs) vs Pune 157-3 | Scorecard

Kohli drives Chahar through the covers but Imran Tahir in the deep messes up a regulation stop to give away a four. Two balls later, he goes for another drive but this time gets a thick outside edge which goes through the empty slip region for another boundary.

Chahar overpitches and on the stumps as Kohli this time plays a delightful flick through midwicket for the third four of the over as 14 come from the third over.

Unadkat, who picked a wicket in his first over, continues his good start as he gives away just five runs despite bowling to the two of the best batsmen in the world -- Kohli and AB de Villiers.

Pacer Lockie Ferguson, playing his second match in IPL, comes into the attack in place of Chahar. He strikes in his very first over with the vital wicket of AB de Villiers, who hits it straight into the hands of Tiwary at short cover to be dismissed for three.

RCB in a spot of bother on 33 for two in five overs with Kohli having made a start, on 26 from 15 balls.

17:57   RCB lose early wicket after Pune post 157

RCB 11-1 (2 ovs) vs Pune 157-3 | Scorecard

Captain Virat Kohli to open the innings for RCB with left-hander Travis Head with the visitors chasing a modest 158 for victory.

Medium pacer Deepak Chahar to open the bowling for Pune. Head takes a single from the first ball to get off the mark and Kohli also does the same followed by two more singles off the last two balls as just four runs come from the over.

Left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat to bowl the second over. A bit of width as Kohli drives it through the covers for a four and then turns the next ball on the leg side for two runs before he picks one.

Unadkat claims the early wicket as he strikes with the last ball of the second over. The ball tails in sharply as Head plays all over it, gets an inside edge to be bowled for two.

17:28   RCB's bowlers limit Pune to 157

Pune 157-3 (20 ovs) vs RCB | Scorecard

Milne's extra pace works for Dhoni as he breaks the shackles, slashing a short wide delivery past point for a four. He turns the next ball on the leg side for a couple and then takes one.

Tiwary swings a length delivery on the leg side as a misfield gets him two runs followed by a single.  Milne again drops short as Tiwary pulls him fine for another four.

Chahal still has two overs left but Aravind comes back. Two singles from the first two balls before Dhoni clubs a full delivery back over the bowler's head for a straight six to register the 400th six of IPL 10.

Tiwary comes down and looks to flay it through the off-side but can't beat the fielder at point before he hits the last ball to long-off for one as 10 come from the over.

Milne bowls a brilliant 19th over, his final of the innings. He bowls to his field, looking to bowl it full with a pack off-side field and the only four of the over comes through an inside edge off Tiwary past the wicketkeeper.

Aravind also follows it up with another superb over. Once again Tiwary gets the edge, this time the leading edge for a boundary through thirdman while Dhoni manages just two singles and leg bye.

RCB have conceded just 28 runs from the last three overs despite Pune having Dhoni out in the middle.

The hosts finish on 157 for three in their 20 overs with Dhoni unbeaten on 21 from 17 balls and Tiwary on 44 from 35 balls. They never really hit top gear and in the death overs struggled to get the boundaries and just about managed to cross the 150-run mark.
17:06   Smith falls for 45, Pune 3 down

Pune 115-3 (16 ovs) vs RCB | Scorecard

Binny comes back and Smith continues the flow of boundaries. The first ball is on the pads as Smith flicks it behind square for a four and then gets another boundary as he hits the next past point.

Smith tries to swing the fifth ball on the leg side but miscues it on the leg side as Milne does well to judge and complete a high catch. Smith walks back for 45 from 32 balls as Pune are reduced to 108 for three in the 14th over.

Negi ends his spell with another tidy over, giving away just two runs, including three dot balls in a row to Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The left-arm spinner finishes with wonderful figures of one for 18 in four overs.

The run rate has taken a sharp dip since Smith's departure with Dhoni taking his time to get his eye in and Tiwary cutting down on his strokes.

Badree builds the pressure with another tight over, conceding just four singles.

Pune are 115 for three in 16 overs, having scored just eight runs from 13 balls since Smith's dismissal.

They will need a few big overs to take themselves to around the 170-run mark./

16:55   Smith, Tiwary boost Pune in middle overs

Pune 63-2 (9 ovs) vs RCB | Scorecard

Aravind comes back as he sends down a tidy second over, giving away four singles as Pune reach 67 for two in 10 overs with Smith on 16 and Tiwary on seven.

Negi bowls another good, conceding just two runs as he beats Smith twice and even survives a shout for leg before wicket.

Smith finally releases some pressure as he slog sweeps Badree over midwicket for a six. The next ball is dropped as Smith goes back and slaps it through the covers for a four. He looks to cut the next ball but gets an edge which goes fine on the off-side for another boundary as Badree gives away 16 runs in the over.

Tiwary ensures the momentum doesn't drop as he gives Chahal the charge and lofts him over midwicket for a six. He chips the next ball in the same region for two runs and then takes a single. Smith then steps back and slaps it square for three runs as the fielder does well at sweeper cover.

Pune have got going, with 29 coming from the last two overs as they reach 98 for two in 13 overs.

16:39   Tripathi dismissed for 37, Pune lose 2nd wicket

Pune 63-2 (9 ovs) vs RCB | Scorecard

Left-arm pacer Sreenath Aravind comes into the attack after two good overs with the new ball by Milne.

Tripathi goes after him rightaway as he lofts the first ball straight back over the bowler's head for a six. But Aravind makes a good comeback as he concedes just a single in the rest of the over.

Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal comes into the attack in place of Badree, who bowled a superb first spell of one for 11 in two overs.

He starts with a slightly wide delivery as Tripathi crashes it through the covers for a four. He looks to the sweep the next ball and is nearly struck in front but somehow gets a glove to survive the LBW shout.

Tripathi continues his positive start as he comes down the track and lofts Chahal over mid-on for the second four of the over as the leg-spinner goes for 12 in his first over.

Left-arm spinner Pawan Negi comes from the other end. Smith and Tripathi collects singles and twos and get eight from the over without taking any risks.

Medium pacer Stuart Binny comes into the attack as RCB juggle their bowlers around. Tripathi plays a nice drive through the covers for a couple and then gets one followed by three more singles before Tripathi is beaten off the last ball as he looks to steer it fine.

Negi makes the breakthrough with the key wicket of the in-form Tripathi, who is caught behind for a good innings of 37 from 28 balls.

Manoj Tiwary, promoted to No. 4, gets off the mark with a boundary as he sweeps it fine on the leg side followed by a single.
16:18   Rahane departs cheaply, Pune lose early wicket

Pune 24-1 (4 ovs) vs RCB | Scorecard

Milne attempts a short ball to Tripathi, who pulls it square on the leg side for a four. He tries the shot again but this time he mishits it fine on the leg side for another boundary.

Milne continues to drop short against Tripathi, who again goes for the pull but this time hits it straight to Kohli at midwicket, who puts down the easiest of catches.

Rahane's poor run in the IPL continues as he sweeps Badree straight into the hands of Milne at short fine leg. Rahane walks back after just scoring just six, having scored just one half-century in nine matches in IPL 10.

Steve Smith gets off the mark in some style as he hits Badree through the leg side for a four before he takes one and Tripathi picks another run.
16:10

Pune 9-0 (2 ovs) vs RCB | Scorecard

Fast bowler Adam Milne, who replaced Chris Gayle, will open the bowling for RCB.

Ajinkya Rahane, who has struggled to live up to his usual high standards in IPL 10, gets off the mark with a single.

Rahul Tripathi on the attack right from the word go. He looks to pull a short but is beaten for pace as he mishits it on the leg side for a couple. Milne bowls a wide but gives away just four runs in the first over.

Leg-spinner Samuel Badree to bowl from the other end. Two singles from the first two balls before Rahane glances one fine off his pads for a single before he takes one as just nine runs come from the second over.
