Following two quick wickets, Sri Lanka looking to bowl some tight overs as Dananjaya concedes just three runs with KL Rahul and Manish Pandey starting off cautiously.

Mathews continues his short ball tactics as Pandey pulls it to deep midwicket for one as the Karnataka duo pick up six runs from the over.

Rahul's poor run in the ODI series continues. He again fails to read the wrong one from Dananjaya as he flicks it straight to the fielder at midwicket to perish for seven.

The legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni playing in his 300th ODI walks out to bat. He gets off the mark with a single down the ground off Dananjaya.

Mathews bowling a brilliant spell to bring back Sri Lanka into the contest. He keeps Dhoni tied to his crease bowling a maiden over, his second of the innings, for wonderful figures of two for 24 in six overs, on a high-scoring pitch.

Courtesy of Mathews, Sri Lanka have managed to keep India's scoring down as they manage just 17 runs from the last five overs, while losing three wickets.

Pushpakumara concedes five singles in the next over as India reach 284 for five in 40 overs with Pandey on eight and Dhoni on three.
