India 230-2 (30 ovs) vs SL | Scorecard

Sri Lanka running out of ideas here as left-arm pacer Fernando comes back. Kohli immediately targets him as he clubs the first ball over long-off for a six to continue his attacking approach.

Three balls later, he flicks the pacer through midwicket for a four followed by two singles as India race past the 200-run mark after 26 overs.

Dananjaya, who conceded 30 runs in four overs, comes back for another spell. He sends down a tidy over, giving away just four singles.

Fernando switches to round the wicket as Kohli takes a single from the first ball to raise the 200-run stand for the second wicket from just 154 balls, the third double century between the two players.

He goes back to over the wicket but ends up bowling a full toss which Kohli whips through midwicket for a four. The next ball is slapped through the covers as Kusal Mendis does well in the deep to keep it down to two.

He then tries the bouncer which Kohli pulls for another couple of runs and takes a single from the last ball to get 11 from the over.

Dananjaya comes under attack now. Kohli flicks the first ball to midwicket but the fielder on the boundary lets go through his hands to give away a four. In the same over, Rohit plays the inside out lofted shot for another boundary.

Captain Malinga brings himself back into the attack with Sri Lanka desperate for a wicket or two. He makes the breakthrough with the wicket of Kohli, who is caught at sweeper cover to complete the landmark of 300 wickets in ODIs.

He put on 219 runs from 168 balls for the second wicket with Rohit as the duo took the Sri Lankan attack to the cleaners.

Kohli was on the attack right from the word go, hitting 17 fours and two sixes in his 96-ball knock.

But India are keen to continue their attacking approach as they promote Hardik Pandya to No. 4 ahead of KL Rahul and Manish Pandey.

Malinga gifts Rohit a full toss which he clips through midwicket for a four to take India to 230 for two in 30 overs.

Rohit himself is approaching the century, having smashed 90 from 77 balls despite playing second fiddle to Kohli.
