16:44  3rd Test: Jadeja's double strike leaves SL in a mess:

SL 31-3 (16 ovs); Target to win: 410 | Scorecard

The umpires call for stumps after checking on the light meter as Sri Lanka finish Day 4 on 31 for three in 16 overs, still needing another 379 runs for victory on the fifth and final day.

Dhananjaya de Silva is unbeaten on 13 with Angelo Mathews at the other end.

Jadeja bowled a good spell and was rewarded for his persistence with two wickets in the final over of the day. Shami was too to handle for opener Sadeera as he ended up gloving a bouncer to the gully fielder.

Earlier, India declared their second innings on 246 for five, setting Sri Lanka 410 for victory.

Shikhar Dhawan (67) and Virat Kohli (50) and Rohit Sharma (50 not out) hit half-centuries before they declared in the post-tea session.

Sri Lanka were bowled out for 373 in their first innings in the morning session with Ishant taking the final wicket, that of Dinesh Chandimal, who perished for a career-best 164.

Jadeja strikes with the wicket of Karunaratne, who is caught behind for 13.

The ball goes straight through as Karunaratne plays for the turn but gets a fine outside edge, which is taken by wicketkeeper Saha.

Interestingly, Suranga Lakmal is sent in as the nightwatchman to bat out the last few minutes in difficult circumstances.

But Lakmal doesn't last long as he is bowled by Jadeja off the third ball he faces. The right-hander ends up playing one back on to his stumps to be bowled for a three-ball duck.
16:19

SL 20-1 (12 ovs); Target to win: 410 | Scorecard

Spin introduced as off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin comes into the attack in place of Ishant and he comes ahead of Jadeja.

A watchful Karunaratne defends Ashwin carefully to play out a maiden over.

Shami is about to continue bowling but in a last minute change he is taken off as Jadeja comes on from the other end, with the light fading considerably.

De Silva flicks the fifth ball on the leg side for two runs before Karunaratne plays out another maiden over from Ashwin.

De Silva tries to heave Jadeja over the leg side but gets an inside edge. He then tries to defend and is given out leg before wicket. He takes the DRS and there is a clear inside edge which saves him.

De Silva again comes down and smashes one straight which is stopped by Jadeja on his follow through as he ends up taking a painful blow on his hand.

Sri Lanka are 16 for one in 10 overs. needing another 394 runs for victory.

The light has faded considerably and it won't be long before the umpires bring out the light meters.

Sadeera plays back to Ishant but is beaten by the pace and hit on the pads but the impact is too high.

He punches the last ball past mid-off for a couple of runs as Jadeja does well.

Shami bowls a good testing over to Karunaratne, who does well to play it out.

Samarawickrama looking to be positive as he pulls a short ball from Ishant on the leg side for one before Karunarante flicks the next through midwicket for two runs.

Ashwin is slow to get down at midwicket and gifts Sadeera Samarawickrama a single before Karunaratne takes a risky single off the next on the off-side.

Shami bowls a quick bouncer to Sadeera and nearly takes his head off as the right-hander does well to sway out of the way.

The next ball is again on the body and Sadeera again tries to avoid as the ball goes off his arm and is caught in the slips.

The umpire rules it out but Sri Lanka take the DRS review and the Ultra Edge shows that the ball had kissed the gloves on the way to Rahane at gully.

Top class fast bowling from Shami. He softened Sadeera with a quick bouncer, who merely attempted to fend the next ball in his attempt to save himself.

It seems Shami is also struggling as he is also seen throwing up on the field but he is fit to continue.
