After losing the first ODI in Dharamsala, India have done well to come back in style and win the series 2-1.

This is India's 8th bilateral series win on the trot.

Following a superb bowling performance by Chahal and Kuldeep that saw them restrict the Lankans to 215, Dhawan played a superb knock to score a century and take India to series win.

Dananjaya comes into the attack and starts with a wide.

Karthik gets the winning runs with a superb shot over covers for a four.

India need 2 runs for victory.

Mathews continues and after singles off the first two deliveries, Dhawan sends him to the boundary through fine leg.

Off-break bowler Gunathilaka comes to bowl and Dhawan just dispatches him over long on for a six.

Pathirana continues and Iyer dances down the track and frees his arms and sends the ball sailing over the bowler for a huge maximum.

He brings up his 50 -- his 2nd consecutive 50 -- with a single down to the on side.

He takes on Pathirana again and that is another boundary past point.

He again gives 12 runs in the over. He is proving an expensive bet for the Lankan captain.

What an effort by Dananjaya, going full length to grab that ball! Iyer plays the ball to third man and is lucky to get that boundary.

After getting a good start Sri Lanka go down tamely after another middle-order collapse.

Chahal and Kuldeep yet again do the job for India as they applied the breaks at the right time and took wickets at regular intervals, not allowing the visitors to settle.

Bhuvneshwar comes back into the attack and Gunaratne is the last man to go as he gets an edge that goes straight into the hands of Dhoni.

Sri Lanka's innings folds up inside 45 overs.

Chahal continues and Pradeep lucky to not have his stumps uprooted as the ball does all sorts of things. That is a maiden.

Chahal's spell ends with impressive figures of 3-49.

Bumrah comes back into the attack and Gunaratne starts with a couple down to third man. And that is a run-out opportunity missed as Bumrah fails to get back in time to get rid of the bails.

Pandya continues and new man Lakmal is caught plumb in front of his crease. The umpire raises the finger and Lanka lose their 9th wicket.

With 10 overs remaining, Sri Lanka are in danger of being bowled out inside the 50 overs.

The batsman tries to sweep but is beaten all ends up as the ball crashes into his stumps round his legs.

Pandya comes back into the attack and Pathirana gets a single.

And Pandya strikes as Pathirana plays a silly shot. He goes for the big shot and doesn't get complete control of it. All he does is put the ball straight into Chahal, who takes a good running catch at mid-on.

Turn and more turn as the Lankan batsmen struggle to get the runs and that is a maiden.

Bhuvneshwar comes back into the attack and the batsmen are content with taking the singles.

And a run-out chance goes a begging as Bhuvneshwar fails to rip the bails while Gunaratne is half-way down the pitch allowing him to get back in time.

5 runs and a wicket come off that over as another middle-order collapse has put Lanka's chances in jeopardy.

The ball thuds into Parera's back foot who is beaten by the turn. He calls for a review after on-field umpire says out. And DRS says it's out. Parera gone for 6 off a close call.

He forces Mathews to play a defensive shot but the ball drifts in and crashes into his middle stump.

This looks like a good batting pitch and Perera will think it's a good toss to lose.

13:23 Perera calls but coin falls in Rohit's favour

Indis have won the toss and elected to field first in the 3rd and deciding ODI in the 3-match series against Sri Lanka in Vizag on Sunday.

India will look to win another series India having not lost a series at home since the defeat to South Africa in October 2015.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, are seeking to win their first ever bilateral series in India. They have lost eight and drawn one.
