Pacer Kamrul Islam to resume proceedings after the tea break. Kohli clips the third ball on the leg side for a couple and then two balls later plays a glorious cover drive for a four. The last ball is short and wide as Kohli slashes it behind point to help himself to another four.

Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam from the other end. Vijay clips the second ball on the leg side for a single to take his score to 99 and Kohli clips the fifth ball behind square on the leg side for one. Vijay taps the last ball and looks for a quick single but Kohli is not interested.

Kamrul gives Kohli some width as he hits it through the off-side for two runs and then takes a single to take his score to 31 from 35 balls.

A slightly short ball which Vijay punches through the point region for a couple to bring up his ninth Test century, from 149 balls, laced with 11 fours and a six. Except for a few close shaves including a missed run out, he has been in complete control and looks set for a big outing on the opening day.
