India 495-6 (115 ovs) vs SL | Scorecard

A single to Ashwin off Perera raises the 50-run stand for the sixth wicket from 127 balls as India continue to build their score on Day 2.

Saha gets into the act as he sweeps Perera powerfully square on the leg side for a four.

Pradeep comes back as Ashwin has a close shave. He turns one on the leg side as the momentum carries him out of the crease with the fielder at short leg having a shy at the stumps but misses with the batsman well out of his crease. And Ashwin benefits by getting two overthrows in the process.

Herath comes back and strikes with the first delivery of his new spell. Saha comes down the track and looks to loft down the ground but ends up hitting it straight to the fielder at mid-on.

Saha walks back for 16 as Herath finally strikes in his 32nd over.

Debutant Hardik Pandya walks in at No. 8. He confidently strides forward and defends the first two balls before coming down and smashing the third back past the bowler Herath for a four to get his first runs in Test cricket in some fashion.
