India 555-8 (125 ovs) vs SL | Scorecard

Pandya sweeps Herath to deep square leg for a single and Jadeja picks one to the fielder positioned deep, down at long-on.

Pradeep bowls a quick bouncer to Jadeja, who does well to avoid it. And the follow up delivery is a perfect yorker which breaks through the left-hander's defences to bowl him for 15.

Mohammed Shami punches the second ball he faces down to long-on for three runs to get off the mark. Pandya again attempts the ramp shot but is beaten before he pulls the last ball powerfully through midwicket for a four.

In the next over, Shami goes on the attack as he smashes Herath back over his head for the first six of the match.

Pandya also ramps up his game as he pulls a short ball from Pradeep powerfully over square leg for a six to take India to 538 for eight, their highest score in Sri Lanka in the first innings of a Test match.

He repeats the shot off the last ball of the over for another six over square leg as India look to get on with things.

Shami continues the attack as this time he launches Herath back over his head for another maximum.

The ninth-wicket partnership between the duo is worth 38 from 22 balls as India go on the attack and score some quick runs.
