England 35-3 (6 ovs) vsAus 277-9 | Scorecard

Root looks in good touch as he plays a nice drive through the covers off Starc, who bowls it full and also provides some width.

In the next over, the in-form Morgan smashes Hazlewood for back to back boundaries through the off-side as England look to counter-attack after the two early wickets.

Two balls later, Morgan punches a full delivery past mid-on for the third four of the over.

Hazlewood bowls a good short delivery to Morgan, who looks to pull but fails to get it off the middle as it goes fine on the leg side but wicketkeeper Matthew Wade is unable to hold on after diving full length to his right.

In the next over, Starc gets Root to edge one but it goes along the ground and sneaks through the gap between the first and second slip fielder for a four.

He drives the next ball through the covers and comes back for three runs before Morgan plays a few cracking drives but can't find the gap.

Hazlewood leaves England in a mess with the key wicket of batting mainstay Root, who gets an edge and is caught behind for 15. Once again the outswinger makes the batsman commit to having a dab at the ball but it moves away enough to take the outside edge.

England in big trouble on 35 for three in the sixth over.

Ben Stokes survives a confident shout for LBW off the first ball he faces as England decide against taking the review and rightly so with the delivery pitching just outside the leg-stump.
