Aus 242-5 (43 ovs) vs England | Scorecard

Maxwell has a huge swing against Ball but fails to make connection before he turns it on the leg side for one.

Head gets two runs from the next ball on the leg side and then takes one before Maxwell picks a single from the last ball to keep strike.

In the next over, Maxwell makes room and slaps Moeen through the off-side for a four. Two balls later he chips it over the bowler's head for a couple and is unhappy after he is unable to get the last ball away for a four.

Australia are 220 for four in 40 overs and the total of 300-plus is not beyond them if Maxwell stays at the wicket for a few overs.

Ball tries a short ball to Head, who pulls it square for a boundary before he swats the next ball like a forehand cross court shot ins tennis for another four as 11 come from the over.

Interesting move from England to bring leg-spinner Rashid back, to bowl the 42nd over. Head drives the first ball through the covers where Morgan misfields to give away two runs and two balls later picks another couple on the leg side followed by two singles before Head cuts the last ball for two runs.

Wood comes back and is unlucky not to get the key wicket of Maxwell (20), who is dropped at short cover by Plunkett as the right-hander smashed a short delivery straight at him.

However, Wood gets his man two balls later as Maxwell swings it over midwicket and it looks to have cleared the fence before Jason Roy leaps high and takes a stunning catch.

Roy leaps and take it high over his head and before the momentum takes him over the ropes he does well to flick the ball in before coming back inside the boundary to complete a sensational catch.

Wood has once again struck with the vital wicket of Maxwell (20), who was threatening to break free and take the game away from England. The pacer had earlier claimed the two main wickets of Warner and Smith for another wonderful performance with the bat.

A wicket at just the right time for England as Australia are reduced to 240 for five in 43 overs.
