Veteran Herath has played a vital knock with the bat, hitting 42 from 67 balls, laced with six fours to stretch Sri Lanka's lead and give them the upperhand after a few early wickets in the morning.

At lunch on Day 4, Sri Lanka are 263 for eight in 74 overs for a lead of 91 runs.

Shami kept India interested with three wickets in the session, that of Dickwella, Chandimal and Perera. Bhuvneshwar dismissed Shanaka to pick up his third wicket of the session.

But Herath's positive batting ensured the scoreboard kept moving as the visitors scored 98 runs in the session for the loss of four wickets.

Sri Lanka lost three wickets in the space of 10 balls before Herath and Perera steadied the ship.

The talking point of the session was Perera's controversial DRS review when appears to have got some assistance from the dressing room as initially after making his way to the dressing room he turned back and asked for the review.
